I don't understand how any metal fan doesn't like the Black album. Production on that album is perfect. Songs like "Sad but True" and "Holier than Thou" are nothing but badass.
As for "Load" very different album for Metallica; not a bad album but not the best for them IMO, any other band makes that album it would have been huge but it didn't fit the Metallica true flavor.
Only truly bad Metallica album "St Anger."

Queens of the stone age, aren't really overrated, there a niche band you either love there repetitive(self proclaimed robot rock) or you fucking hate it.
ACDC suck dick though, no talent other than dressing up in little boys clothing, all gimmick, shitty songs, repetitive fucking song writing, no fucking redeemable qualities, pure fucking shit.
Beatles are fucking solid you may not like them but you gotta respect that they can write some pretty fucking amazing songs. Anyone that has ever studied song writing/music theory will tell you there the bench mark for quality writing.

The most underrated by far is Dire Straights. Sold like 60 million records, solid song writing got talent, and their easy to get. Yet most people don't even know who the fuck they are.

I didn't watch the whole creeping death clip, but there is one out there from that Moscow show that talks about how like 10 people or so were trampled to death as that song played. Sad but True.......sorry, couldn't resist. lol
Nickelback is the hands down winner of most overrated band ever by a mile. They write some catchy pop rock hooks but everything they do sounds the same. It's like everything is written with the goal of it being played in a strip bar.

First three are definitely overrated. Korn is awesome, and they get shit on and hardly any respect at all so not sure how they'd be overrated. What they have is a rabid fan base becuase the lyrics Jonathon puts out there are so personal and hit home to people. They also do more fan interaction than any band I can think of. The one thing I will say about Korn was when they got locked into their contract they were unhappy because they always had pressure on them to make a hit......hence "Y'all Want a Single". They are back to being Korn on the last cd and it kicks ass. Korn, Metallica, and Godsmack put on the best live shows out there. Say what you want, but all three have a lot of material that keeps the crowd waiting for "that song", they all give 100% everytime they play, and they all give back/ interact with their fans.

Hmmm.....When i play Nirvana or listen to their records, i hear a child's song which makes it even more astonishing. I mean, they came out of no where to take out Michael Jackson off the charts. I grew up listening to them and even saw them live in Columbus, Ohio (Sigh) in 1992.....I was ten fucking years old and got my ass kicked in the pit. I guess everyone just listens to "Nevermind" which is a so-so album but Bleach and In Utero was was much better then Nevermind in my opinion.
Green Day is a great band too. Tre, Billy Joe and Mike just seem to be simple guys and that is what you love about bands like Bush, Blink -182, Red Hot Chili Pepper and Weezer. They will take the time to talk to you, sign shit for you and ask you, "did you enjoy the show?" If you do not like bands, do not listen to other people's shit and find some other music that you do like. ;) I wonder how some bands keep putting out records but bands like Guns and Roses.....shaking my head......I mean, hell, people hate Thin Lizzy and how the fuck do you hate Thin Lizzy?? ??? ???

I have tried in vain to like Korn but I just don't get their music. Just one of these things I guess.
I'm not sure why people are saying Guns n Roses and Metallica. Appetite for Destruction is one of the single greatest rock albums of all time and the Use Your Illusion albums are alright too. Only The Spaghetti Incident was shit.
Metallica too are good - I didn't like St Anger but Death Magnetic was fine. The Black album was awesome and their stuff before that was good too.
And as for the people saying AC/DC are overrated need their heads examined.

I read his biography and had alot of his personal notes from his journal - he was an artists and I like nirvana
he really had like chroons disease or stomach ulcers BAD, he'd only eat mac n cheese from specific band
he was cool tho cause he talked in his juornal about meeting eddie van halen backstage and eddie was all coked out and drunk askin kurt for his autograph...I thk he became disinfranchised with whole 'music/band' thng after that, self-medicating, he'd still hang out in shitty parts of washington state after his plat albums (to get H tho but still) - shotgun was somethg else tho

Yeah Tunnel's a good album after the bombast and excess commercialism of Born In The USA.
Springsteen has a deep catalogue of music spanning 35 years so to put him in the same category as bands who are one album wonders is ridiculous. But over the years, the rock 'n roll hype machine has probably hurt him more than helped him.

The Rasp in his voice and the pain in his lyrics are what made NIRVANA GREAT. 8) I will never forget getting to see them and only being 10 but the way he could belt out lyrics for being so little. ;) I know i have the set list from the show somewhere. :)

I don't know , but the most underrated by far is Thin Lizzy.
I happened to see them in London at the weekend with Scott Gorham & Vivian Campbell on lead guitars and Ricky Warwick on lead vocals. It was one of the best gigs I have been to. I picked up a live CD of the gig immediately after the show was over. If you like Thin Lizzy's music you might want to check out the deluxe editions of their albums that have just been released. Another underrated band has to be FM (the band that opened for Thin Lizzy). I didn't even know of them, until I saw them at the weekend, even though they've been around since 1984 and have released 11 albums. Also checkout Ricky Warwick's solo work, it's awesome and totally underrated.

Come as you are was the first I heard of them and is still my favorite. but for me Nirvana is one of those bands where I can listen to a whole album and like it and never really have a favorite. with most bands I'll have a few songs I like and some I don't like but with nirvana I like most all of it.

I dont like the Oasis comment though.In the UK anyway last year when they were still playing gigs they were selling every ticket in under an hour.Not any band does that in the UK that i know.Theyre first 2 albums are easily up there with any album thats ever been released, and various polls over the last 10 years agree.Theyve been kinda shit for a while, but definetly NOT over rated

I gotta say that I think Ozzy Osbourne is over rated.
He is awesome because he is a pioneer of heavy metal music and he was one of the first ever.
But man, his voice fucking sucks and a lot of his songs are shit.

While they did put out something like 55 albums, they definitely had some songs that changed the way music is today. they're not mozart, but the lyrics (and often times the music) are some of the best of all time.
