Can they really be diminished with deep tissue massages ? (no homo)
How does one "address" scar tissue? massage?
Not deep tissue. You'll want a more specific approach to target scar tissue buildup, something that incorporates tools. DTM is great, but not for scar tissue. Graston technique seems to be the best in my opinion.

I get this done weekly. It's AWESOME stuff, if you can tolerate the pain. It's excruciatingly painful the first few sessions where you are breaking down the majority of the scar tissue and returning blood supply to the tissue. Youll bruise really bad The first few times. After 3-4 treatments, it becomes less painful and begins to feel great, like a DTM would feel, and you'll rarely bruise again unless your doc finds a new area of scar tissue build up.
Most guys in the gym, especially ones who have been lifting for years, would benefit tremendously from this. There's tissue surrounding and inside of your muscle bellies that is NOT receiving proper blood supply due to scar tissue. I make sure to get my delts done weekly as well since that's my preferred site for my Vitamin B-12 shots. You can do a bastardized method by using a butter knife and some lotion, and going to town on your skin, but obviously nothing is gonna beat a trained doctor who has seen thousands of patients.
If anyone is interested, I would call around to your local chiropractors and ask them if the use Graston Technique. It's a very popular modality and they'll most likely be able to refer you quickly to a DC who practices it.
