My speedo stopped at 145 and I had the needle buried well past that and still going until I had to slow for a sharpish bend probably 160mph maybe more

160mph in a 1993 RX7 R1 single turbo front mount intercooler with cold air intake, 3" downpipe and free flow exhaust, heavily modified suspension. I could have pushed it further but I-95 heading down to Miami isn't the best road to be going that fast on.

Fastest Ive been in my car just a tad over 300kmph if I wanted to go faster would need to change diffs and gearbox and maybe upgrade to next stage turbo.

Im not planning on going any faster than that ;D Iv a half cage plenty of chasis support extra air channeling etc to keep me grounded,suspension all done etc all the gound work is taken care of.If I was wanting to go faster then yest Id need some more supporting mods,diffs,gearbox being 2,,Id prob pull engine and rebuild again so could rev to at least 9-10k but be reliable..Im happy with current set up so wont be doing that in to near future.
I nearly lost it at 260ish kmph , hit a wet patch and shimmied across the road , lucky the 4wd system pulled me out of it , though my anus was in my mouth lol

yeah, i had a few threads about it.2001 hayabusa, velocity stage 3, nitrous, and full billet internals, built by me, and tuned by lee shierts(spelling) i sold it almost a year and now have a 2001 Honda 929RR that is also turbo charged.

Although it wasn't in a car, I once piggybacked on Nasser as his turbopowered quads pumped like pistons en route between Milos' gym in Fullerton and Gold's Venice. Cop says we broke 200mph before he pulled a hammie. Never got a ticket though. Nasser freaked the cop out with a mind blowing rear lat spread and we continued the journey with him running on his hands.

Yep thats why I said TT not single ;D FULL BPU+ FMIC, ligtned up a bit...this was from a 80mph to 160 roll BTW..not a dead dig. Have owned some fast imports in my past. Have had 2 11 sec DSM's...one ran 11.82@120.3( 3200Lb STREET CAR) on Dunlops ;D
The GTS I beat had exhaust and headers nothing fancy..but still a win is win

Yep love DSM's my 92 GSX had a 20g, gate, 660 injectors, Supra TT Fuel pump, Spearco 221 FMIC, 95 ported manifold, full 3" exhaust, HKS gate, etc, etc, blah, blah damn that car was fun the external gate dumped STRAIGHT to the ground and I loved the way it sounded..
The supra would run 18psi on the stock twins...I did the the TRUE TWIN conversion with the cheap mod you can do to make both come in boost at the same time...it would hit 21-22psi on C-16 VP race gas... Dynoed it a couple of times and got 440hp to the wheels on C-16...the car had 130K miles on the STOCK UNTOUCHED MOTOR. The 2jz Toyota engine is almost indestructable as long as you don't run lean with Air/fuel...

Supras were always the bane of my RX7. Off the line I'd always take them but once in 3rd gear they'd slowly catch up and edge past me. I almost picked one up but after driving my RX7 driving a Supra felt like driving a bathtub on wheels, things have a fat ass that loved to swing around.

Ive done 185mph in my vette 180ish in my cobra and 198mph according to the speedo on my gixxer but who knows how acurate that is. either way I was a organ donor waiting to happen. I was once in a steve millen prepared twin turbo 300 zx making 700hp geared for top end. It was radared at 211mph during testing. I think we topped out at 170mph on the NJ Turnpike

GTS Vipers are not that fast...12.8 car in the 1/4, 12.5 for that one I raced MAYBE with a good 60ft and a good driver..my supra could have EASILY walked that Viper from any mph on a roll...now on a dead dig from a stop to about 60 the Viper would be ahead...that is until boost came on in Supra..then it's history. You really should learn more about forced induction before you make stupid remarks..

if a viper goes 12.5 to 12.8 in the 1/4 its because the driveer cant drive his car. I ran my old viper into the 11s when it was stock 1140@122 if I remember correctly. although you are right from a roll a twin turbo supra would walk on a stock viper or even one with exhaust and a tune.
My next toy will be a twin turbo 2000 viper coupe wanna make 1000hp on pump cas and drive it daily

11.40 was done with either ET streets, drag radials. or slicks..NOT ON STREET TIRES like I mentioned. At least somebody on here understands Forced Induction and knows a bit about the 2jz...just because Civic's and CRX's with damn coffee can exhaust have given imports a bad rep there not ALL slow..

GTS Vipers are not that fast...12.8 car in the 1/4, 12.5 for that one I raced MAYBE with a good 60ft and a good driver..my supra could have EASILY walked that Viper from any mph on a roll...now on a dead dig from a stop to about 60 the Viper would be ahead...that is until boost came on in Supra..then it's history. You really should learn more about forced induction before you make stupid remarks..

although the vehicle may be built for drag racing while staying off the throttle the fuel consumption would be no worse then a stock viper as most consumption would occur during wide open throttle. My 03 cobra makes 900 hp and gets 20mpg on the highway when not in boost.

I love sleeper type cars.. Cars that look slow but indeed are very fast. Dude, the Supra (MKIV) is actually one of my favourite all time cars, I fucking love them. But your prices are WAYYYY OFF, and those cars are way overpriced, it's ridiculous to pay 50k for a 10 year old car, shit even Ferrari's don't hold that much resale value.
That and also Toyota has fucked up royally by not following up with an updated model, the Supra ran it's course in America in 1998 (2002 in Japan) and there is still no replcament... every other car manufacturer has moved on, Mazda came out with the RX-8, there was some new Eclipse's on the market a few years back...where the fuck is the new Supra !?!

I got out of bikes after I had a serious scare (car almost t-boned me into a telephone pole). I used to race motocross as a kid, so I have always loved bikes. It's all about having a good time and getting home safe. Your doing the right thing for yourself and for you son. Good luck out there.

thanks man my son rides quads and a 80 cc honda dirtbike right now. he is big for a 5 year old but he scares me with the shit he pulls off. He is into building ramps and jumping off the loading dock in the barn.

Especially when they are probably driving crossfires and pt cruisers. If your car is that fast surely you would have dyno sheets...

It was between an 04 Millennium Yellow C5 and a 02 Black WS6 TA a couple of years ago for me. I bought the vette instead because it had an extended GM warranty and it was my second favorite car ever, but I wish I had that TA now(that was my favorite car GTA too). I love my vette, but a black WS6 is badass and sooo much cheaper to mod. Insurance for a single male in his mid/late 20's is not cheap and Modding my vette is so expensive; I bought longtubes headers with a dyno tune and install ran $2100 (36RWHP/31RWTQ dyno gain ;D), on a TA the headers are half the price of the vette!!! Other than that I have a BBK CAI, Magnaflow X-Pipe and exhaust w/AR longtube headers.

You know, i really wanted to mod my car, then it hit me, people who spend thousands of dollars modding a car, let's say a Honda Civic, still have a Honda Civic when it's said and done. And they will never get, let's say the 70K they put into the car.
Now it's hard to find a unmolested Supra turbo, because people rice the things up.
And let's not start in to 800 HP Skyline's...do you really think it's fun waiting for the turbo's to spoul up? And then Wham...!!! Engineers spend thousands of man hours to make the production car hav a little noticable lag as possible.
Yet us Yanks with our 1000 HP Supras, and UK and Japan with the 800 HP Skylines jst think Turbo lag is soooo fun, as long as it makes big numbers, but could never et close to the Veyron Pur Sang, that i have in my back yard.

Ive little to no lag on my car , not running 800 horsies(mines 700) but I have friends who do have that sort of power , one in his 260rs stagea and he has no lag , but he has increased displacement to 2.8 ;D.. always ways around things , of course the bigger you go you will always lose down low but as long as you still have a good popwer band to use then who cares , its hardly noticeable..Ive been in some big single turbo gtrs and its all how its set up..pure drag strip cars wont be fun on the street but there are ways to make the little bit of loss of response hardly noticeable.

A twin turbo can not run its full potential on pump gas
Stability … not even in it vocabulary is goes sideways once u floor it in any gear … but at ¾ throttle the car just flies the world moves like u pressed fast forward … it run on 116 octane (c16) it delivers the 1200hp (I think 1086 hp in RW) in 6th gear only as the boost get higher with higher gear changes …
The fastest stock supra I hear was a blue supra that had stick engine with a T66 (if I remember right) and did a 699RWHP … the 2JZ engine was great if u knew what u were doing
Ara Arslanian made couple of Supra and Sloara that used these engine + to the extreme mods and go 6s at the drag strip … that was when he and George Ioannou were together …
A supra engine with a proper stockerkit + T100 turbo is a dangerous combination … can be driven on the street and great drag time (in 7s) but cant be used as a daily car … as for the gear using a stock or a Hollinger is an option … but wont effect the street driven option
And I am sure everyone realized that the red viper had a auto trans on it …

my LT-1, 5.7 engine had some nice work done on her, ive had her up to 140mph afew times years back but backed off cause that was alittle nerve racking for me to be honest,i think i shit my pants,lol.my speedometer goes to 160 but ive never hit that yet and dont plan to.i have a 2 and a year old son and a wife these days,it wouldnt be fair to my family doing that kind of crazy shit no more.im far from a huge bread winner or anything but the money i do make pays the bills and puts food on the table for my family.at those speeds your life could be snuffed out in a split second,a blow out, a oil slick,a deer runs into the highway ect,and thats not to good of a scenario for anyone to be in imo

Agree. My near-stock LT1 (only upgrades were headers, exhaust, cold air intake & MAF) very decisively beat a modified Supra from 0 to about 130 mph (although he was probably only at 115 mph before I started breaking). And mine had an automatic transmission.

Actually, the stock LT1 TA has a 1/4 mile under 14 seconds - look it up. Mine had about an extra 40 hp in mods. A stock Supra is nowhere near mid to low 13's - any published claims of such are simply BS, as I learned for myself ;)

All I know is I've decisively beaten imports that claim stock 1/4 mile times that are faster than what Pontiac published for the LT1 Trans Am. Perhaps GM is conservative in their published 1/4 mile claims. It is a fact that they do under-quote stock horsepower of their muscle cars.

Ever hear of a ball bearing turbo? turbo lag is pretty much reduced to a minimum
The X6 5.0i has ingenius setup where the exhaust ports are on the inside of the V8, so that the turbos are closer, yet those who have tested say there is noticable Turbo lag. I believe they use Mitsu turbos as well.
I like the Supra, but it's getting hard to find a unmolested one, Gen X and Y tend to f-up things and then roll on to the next, treating cars like rolling Big Macs.
Same with the E46 M3's. I saw a guy show off his chipped M3 and blew the engine. He got another and did stuff to the already stressed engine, and yep, f-up that one...That is two M3's he went thru... :'(

Ok smart guy..go and look for a Supra STOCK with 65k miles on it TODAY and tell me how much you pay ?? I can help you out, around 28K-34K you wont find it ANY cheaper. So I would say I got a hell of a deal and Supra's have gone UP in value not down...resale on those things is stupid.. I cannot believe what some people pay for them..

About 130mph back when I had my 2002 WS6, this moron in VW GTI wanted to race me on the highway I had to show him that there is no replacement for displacement. Nowadays I have a tahoe and if I go over a hundred I feel like an immature kid that hasnt grown up

The fastest I've ever gone in my ls1 TA was around 155 mph on Alligator Alley(yea, very stupid, stupid thing to do), racing an ST1 of all things.
Besides, who the fuck still has a stock LT1 car, especially if they race it? Yes, they are a bit of a dog bone stock, but it takes very little in mods to make it run deep 12s/high 11s. Hell, there are cam-only LS1 f-bods that run low to mid 10s.

That is an example of nice stock Twin turbo with low miles a for a good price, 25,900 is a good price..The blue one on the bottom has a questionable title and has had the original engine replaced...

It's tough to find a supra that has been left alone. I like those cars when they came off the factory floor. Now douche bags are adding fart cans, bodykits huge wheels and nasty paint. The supra has been ruined. I like the ones that have been left alone. BTW those are the ones that are worth the most cash because resale on one of those fast and furious cars cant be too good.
For the one listed for 12K, people just pull out the stock turbo and put in a new one anyway so why invest all that money into a turbo supra? I remember when I had a video game called the need for speed and I would use the supra and C5.

Thanks bro, LT1's rock and when the bros put in the "Hot Cam" headers, exhuast, CAI, and a tune they are running high 12's .
During their time they were pretty quick and for the price too they were a steal, a base Z28 or Formula was in the low 20's new. You can buy a nice TA,Z, Formula LT1 with 20-60K miles for around 5-10K right now, if I wasn't so broke I would buy one.
Car payments blow, stick with the 4x4 ;D I live in South Florida, but when I lived in WI I always stored the muscle car I had from October through May. Good times.

Turbo cars can shoot flames when they run rich too...oh yeah you would know that...most high hp turbo cars under a lot of boost will shoot flames when downshifting...so nice try dude..no spray on that car..you cannot just can handle the truth that a MILDLY modded Supra will kill a ZO6..stock Z06's are not that fast..

I love those modified Supras. Those 900+ horsepower ones. I raced one on the highway and it put buses on me immediately(I was running all motor h/c at the time). Then, they go to the track and run 13s and high 12s all day, lol.

Supras are cool, but if we are talking stock they are nothing that special. Any car can be modded to beat Vipers etc.
All the imports from that era came hindered by the gentlemans agreement from factory..peak power was not alowwed to exceed 206kws at the engine.From stock the GTR,Supra,evolution,sti are shit but its the potential they hold..with a few basic bolt ons the supra and gtr destroy yank rubbish and you still have money in your pocket ;)

A driver has been charged with stunt driving after he was allegedly clocked going an astounding 250 km/h.
OPP officers pulled the man over on Highway 400 south of Finch Ave. One constable had apparently set up a stationary laser enforcement device when the Infiniti blew by him. A second officer then managed to pull the vehicle over despite the high velocity.
"I haven't been around here too long, but I've never heard of a speed this high," OPP Const. Scott Mulville observed.
"We have a few 'over 50s' obviously but nothing in the range of 250 (km/h) so no. It's a pretty fast driver."

Mulville added, "I think he was trying to enjoy the car you see behind me. It's a high performance sports car but that kind of speed is a major cause of accidents in the Toronto area. So there's no excuse for that type of speed."
The motorist loses his wheels for seven days and faces a fine of $2000. He's due in court in April.
He's charged with stunt driving, which in this case will be specified as excessive speed. The offence also translates into six demerit points.

Laying Down The Law
What does the new law against street racing and stunt driving call for? Here's the list:
- The minimum fine is $2,000 while the maximum is $10,000 after a conviction, the highest penalty in Canada.
- Police can issue an immediate seven-day driver's licence suspension and seven-day vehicle impoundment for street racing, participating in a driving contest or stunt driving.
- Courts can impose a driver licence suspension of up to 10 years for a second conviction, if the second conviction occurs within 10 years of the first. For a first conviction, the maximum licence suspension period remains at 2 years.
- The definition of a "driving stunt" includes driving a motor vehicle at 50 km/h or more above the posted speed limit.
- The Act also bans driving a motor vehicle on a highway with a connected nitrous oxide system. Some street racers use nitrous oxide to enhance the acceleration capabilities of their vehicles.
If convicted his insurance goes up to $30, 000.oo/yr, ...if he can get it. :o

I've driven about 160 MPH on the autobahn in Germany. My comfort level is between 130 - 140 MPH, but I don't get to go that fast very often.
