When Sarah Palin first burst on the national scene she had an 80% approval rating in her home state, now she couldn’t even get a majority of Alaskans to vote for her:
Sarah Palin appears to be losing the Alaska vote.
A new Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of likely voters in the state finds that just 41% say they would vote for the former Alaska governor if she ran for president in 2012. Forty-eight percent (48%) say they would not vote for Palin, and 11% more are undecided.
Alaska voters are almost evenly divided in their views of Palin. Forty-nine percent (49%) view her at least somewhat favorably, while 50% share an unfavorable opinion of her. This includes 31% who regard her Very Favorably and 37% with a Very Unfavorable view.
Perhaps this can be explained in part by the feeling that the ex-governor who became Republican John McCain’s surprise running mate in the 2008 presidential campaign is bad for Alaska’s image. Thirty-eight percent (38%) say Palin’s views and activities reflect positively on Alaska’s image, but 45% think they reflect negatively on the state. Twelve percent (12%) say they have no impact
And that’s from the voters who, arguably, know Palin best.
That ain’t good.

Besides the fact that most now realize she's a certified idiot they're probably afraid she would just quit halfway through her term

Where do you get "59%" would not vote for her (the title of your thread) when the article says "Forty-eight percent (48%) say they would not vote for Palin, and 11% more are undecided"?

Creative assumption? :D
Personally, I don't think Palin has been a viable national candidate since the election. She may be helpful in a supportive role by pushing her followers (like 240) towards a particular candidate, but even then a Republican candidate may not be comfortable associating with Palin.
-
Alaska is in debt up to its eyeballs. She was a terrible governor. Couldn't even finish her term. Epic loser girl!

More like embellishment. :)
In fairness to her, she hasn't been a candidate at all since the election. I like that she has stayed involved by speaking around the country and endorsing candidates. She must be doing something right if candidates seek out her endorsement.
I doubt she runs for president. She'll probably be more effective outside of DC anyway.
-
i'm a big fan of hers. I agree with mccain that she knows more about energy than anyone else in the united states.

It is the title of the article.
That number is obviously taking in consideration the undecided voters. The title of the article should say something like a "majority" to be more accurate. However that doesn't change the fact her approval numbers have gone to shit, and every single time she opens her mouth she just makes it worse for herself. Not a viable candidate by any means and Repubs know this very well but don't know how to make her go away.

Yes, it should say "majority." Her approval numbers (which aren't the subject of the "article") don't mean much, because she's no longer in office.
Regarding the number of people from Alaska who would vote for her for president, she only got 48 percent of the vote in 2006 when running for governor. Big deal.
-
when did she decide to run for president?
::) ::) ::) who gives a shit...danny must be 240's gimmick
-
yawn. gimmick accusations are very poor. We all know when I post a palin story, it's one much more entertaining than some poll of her former governed.
-
The title of the article is misleading but I'm surprised that people who read NewsMax and World Net Daily really care about such things

I told you so...and so did many others ;)
-
I vaguely recall the people on this board shit on the CBO when it doesn't support their point of view and then point to it when it does
either way, what does it have to do with the story about Palin?
-
240 - why are you concerned about palin when just this week the kenyan marxist in the wh signed us up for at least 50 billion in the EU bailout and nominated a socialist hag who worked for goldman as well as tried to keep the 911 families from suing the saudis for their role in the plot?
-
when did she decide to run for president?

Duuuuuude that's sooooooo lame. I started posting on Getbig loooong before 240 showed up here. But that's ok ..u can still believe your own fantasy. ;)
-
If all you left wing fags have left is to blame palin, that speaks volumes of the disaster YOUR president is causing.

LOL no no no brain child...we didnt shit on the CBO we shit on the numbers b/c they were misleading...and the reason they were misleading is b/c of the dems trying to pull a slight of hand trick...seemed to work real well on you too
now that the CBO has redone the numbers without the dems smoke and mirrors the outcome is like I and many others here said it would be...
what does newsmax and the world net daily have to do with palin? ::)

who is blaming Palin for anything?
it's a story about a Rasmussen poll
why so defensive?
-
Obama's signing me up for the EU bailout and the CBO report confirming wat I warned everyone about pissed me off royally today.
-
cuz I've voted republican all my life dude.
palin running in 2012 means a GOOd repub won't be running :(
obama running in 2012 means a GOOD repub can win :)
So while I agree with your attacks on obama 90% of the time, he's like Clinton was to me. No, not the "he wudn't so bad" crap you hear from born-again repubs like beach or coach who voted Clinton in 92.

True to form. I bet you can't go 24 hours without telling a fib. lol . . . .

I thought you voted libertarian ??? ::) ;)

Wow,in debt up to its eyeballs,so you admit Obama is a total failure?

Obama is NOTHING like Clinton.Clinton cut capitol gains taxes.Clinton was pretty strong on economics and didnt despise the rich.Clinton understood that it was the rich and big buisiness that provided jobs.Obama PURPOSELY is destroying the private sector. He hates the wealthy and the productive.Obama is Carter,an utter, total failure and disaster.
-
He's worse.
-
By the way,240 voted republican his whole life but claims to have voted for Bob Barr.
-
BILLy, let me guess... you voted clinton in 92 also?
-
what is there to doubt? I sitll have bush 2000 stickers all over my shit, and some dole stickers somewhere. Until i learned about the fishiness of 911, I was the biggest bush supportedr on these boards. ask hugo, RPF and others who saw my posts here from 2003 on... i HATED the kerry/edwards combo. I talked a TON of shit about it here in general board back then. You newbies are clueless saying I'm a lib. I just didn't like that piece of shit ticket you ran in 2008, nor the 911 bullshit you do your best to ignore.
In 2008 there were dems running, libs running, and a conservative running for the libertarian party.
fucckin clinton voters, the whole lot of ya. pathetic.
-
What does that have to do with your obama suck ups?
-
BILLy, let me guess... you voted clinton in 92 also?
No,during the Clinton years I voted for Bush SR. Then sat out the Bob Dole vote.I refused to vote for Dole, and actually voted for Buchannon in the primary[I might be getting my years mixed up,but I voted for Buchannon one year in the primary then voted for him in the general election when he ran as an independant,if I remember right].
I would have voted for the libertarian the last election, but it was Bob Barr who is a filthy scum bag guy.Who supports the war on drugs, among many other rino issues.
-
the point is, I did agree with some of obama positions, some of mccain positions, but they were both POS libs dude.
YOU voted mccain in 2008 - you voted FOR amnesty, FOR the bailouts, FOR capping emissions and FOR every other POS lib RINO position he has taken.
Hell, a mccain presidency right now woudln't be all the diff from this obama presidency. Bush printed 3 TRILLION to keep businesses afloat. mccain supported his policies and would have printed $ just like obama did. theyre all the same brah. Yeah, obama panders to the ignorant poor vote, while mccain pandered to the rich vote, but all at the expense of us, the middle class.
-
Why are we talking about Palin, when the Kenyan Communist POS just signed us up for the EU bailout?
