Nothing sad about it, it's his own doing. He's living his life the way he wanted, no one forced him to drink, many people chipped in for his rehab and bent backwards to help him only for him to let them down and fall down on his arse again.
A bit like George Best, waste of a donors liver, which could and should have gone to someone who is in a predicament through pure bad luck and not self induced from an arrogant life style.

Most people would see this as sad and sympathize with his plight, even if it is self induced, and most addictions are .
But oh no..... not Skorpio, his hard man image and Getbig trolling persona mean more to him than warranting serious discussion about and English footballing legend near his death bed.
I bet you wouldn't say that to his face. This act is becoming boring and stale fast.
If you weren't actually a nice bloke off the boards I would have no reason to like you at all.

I save my sympathies for people hard on their luck fighting everyday to survive and if they had a tenth of his luck they would be grateful and make the most out of it rather than throw it all away.
I have a close friend who is currently battling through terminal cancer and his little daughter has cancer too....he is trying his best to stick around for as long as possible, ops, chemo...the full works.
And for the record I didn't cry when Amy Winehouse died either, nor did I get upset when Peaches Geldoff over dosed.

Seems many Footballers once they stop playing don't know what to do with themselves and end up getting involved with drugs, booze and gambling.
I think once you are used to the adulation of being a star and playing in front of thousands of people every week it must be a massive comedown when you stop playing.
Addiction don't have much to do in my opinion with wealth or success, actually deprived areas probably have the worst addiction rates but it effects all non the same.
Think it has more to do with your personality type and character traits.
Notable examples, George Best, Paul Merson, Tony Adams, Razor Rudick and Gazza.

My heart goes out to anyone battling alcohol and/or drug addictions. It's such a waste of life. I have never understood people chasing a high when you can get high on life. Jump out of a plane if you are looking for highs etc. Its safer too.

Not everyone can "jump on a plane". Not everyone can "get high on life".
Take a walk around Klong Toey slums - go to Father Joe's orphanage for HIV positive kids - these people have approximately fuck all to look forward to.
So a little yaba, booze etc is about the only "high on life" some people can get.
Of course Gazza - he's just a poor boy done good who couldn't hack it. It was all there for him and he spunked it up the wall.
I don't see why sympathy is necessary? Or are we sympathizing with the fact that some guy with a good right foot and a low IQ couldn't handle a shit load of money?
He was privileged.
My wife insists that on her birthday each year we go to an orphanage or charity run home for the disabled, her birthday money goes on a slap up mean for 2-300 people - which really, doesn't cost that much in the grand scheme of things. These are the people we should sympathize with. They can't jump on a plane, yet they seem to take life in their stride and put a brave face on.
So some guy gets shitfaced because he has more money than he can handle. sounds like he's have probably done the same thing if he wasn't gifted at footie. No great loss.
