In the late 70s, Walmart was just a regional general store. When it expanded dramatically, every lazy slob was able to have a caloric surplus. As Ludwig Von Mises said, Capitalism pours the horn of plenty on the common man.

Same with the technology revolution, every barely literate moron has access to devices inaccessible to the elite just a short while ago.

One of their worst songs off the album that sent them into shitsville for about 17 years until Death Magnetic.

This is from a new music perspective, they still were insane live.

Definitely one of the great Anthems along with.

Stairway to Heaven
Green Grass and High Tides
Won’t Get Fooled Again
Funeral for a Friend
Bohemian Rhapsody
Love to Love (UFO)
Tom Sawyer
Boys are Back in Town
Hotel California
Sympathy for the Devil
Aenema

UFO, one of the greatest!

Schenker!

The Stone Roses - Waterfall

*Charismatic singer almost making up for his terrible voice and not being wider than heath ("It's not where you're from, its where you're at")
* Gifted guitarist, such a crisp clean pure sound, untold influence amongst British guitarists
* Best drummer in a generation or more, Pete Townshend from The Who said he was the most talented he had seen since Keith moon

One genius album, preceded by some singles, then it all fell apart in a mire of drugs, newly found wealth apathy, court cases and acrimony, what could be more rock n roll, part of the charm

This is the only youtube version I could find of this live tv performance without the useless egotistical host preamble

I like how it just latches on to the riff from the get go, they know they are on a good thing and just ride it until the last third when they let loose a bit

Its subjective. I consider myself a classic rock pop music buff. There are so many great songs out there that picking the "best" is impossible. Vincent (starry starry night) would be at the top of any list. If you were chubby or lacking in social graces in high school, you could argue for Janis Ian's At Seventeen. Songs are typically designed, at least the great ones, to reach out and grab your heart and soul. So if anyone is serious, and sincere, there really is no wrong answer.

You sound like my wife  ;D She is an 80's buff... But I will stick by my position that making art (music) competitive is a mistake.  The best song is so personal. Now we can all agree Hotel California is great. But that song that grabs you... speaks to you.... the "Hurt" Johnny Cash, the "Nothing Compares" Prince and Rosie Gaines, and countless others.... well, I think you agree with me and it was in jest. But im always open to hearing new amazing songs,. I know the story behind Christine McVies Song Bird recording so that holds a special place in my heart . as I mentioned Johnny Cash's Hurt with the video is one of my all time favorites.
