I believe it has to do with the ability to penetrate the blood-brain barrier. Don't quote me on that, though - I haven't done enough reading on it.

Also, they may do something molecularly during the processing/manufacturing. I don't know that simply taking B-3 and GABA together will accomplish the same effect.

  After trying it for a few days, it induces concentration and calming at higher dosages (500 mgs.) I keep the aspirin handy, too.

  I ordered some noopept recently and will post about it when I've tried it.

 Update: the noopept kicked in much faster than the picamilon and seems to last longer.
