He was the biggest bust in the NFL. It seems after he was caught I think in his last year in college for steroids his NFL career was noted for unimpressive play. I wonder if the testing of him took his steroid strength away. Remember how big his contract was at the time?

i wouldn't call him the biggest bust........many other names come to mind......ryan leaf......trev alberts......and lawrence phillips......to name a few.

A bust in the sense of the ridiculous hype and the fact that he was the quintessential badass linebacker in college, big school with a ton of tradition and a reputation for toughness, the only 2x Dick Butkis award winner/recently selected for the all century team, all American academic, workout freak 450 pound bench press and 4.6 speed.

When you take all THAT into consideration he was a bust of sorts but the guy still started every game he was available and was pretty decent overall. It was injuries that ultimately forced him out of the league, not poor play.

No one ever said he was a decent linebacker in the NFL. He seemed like his impressive play in college just disappeared when he became a pro. Again, I wonder if it was his fear of getting caught with steroids again that led to a decrease in his playing ability.

it was more a case of having far better competition that exposed him
