Tommy, Great shots! I got caught in that 'rain' while driving back from the South Point after taking the kids to see PARANORMAN. I liked it better than they did.

Hate to nit-pic here but that photo taken from your Palms Place room was shot in the SE direction and not the SW direction.

Just letting you know that in case you're called upon to fly the plane back to the west coast after departing Sin City.

Can I advise ya to give Kitty Glitter a $20 try at Ellis Island at thirty cents a "pull' which is now "press the button". If you get the Bonus (3 cat bowls full of diamonds) you get 15 free spins and they always pay off well.

There are t Kitty Glitters in EI. Two are side by side and the other is another row over,. All located over there by the Pizza/Spare Ribs area.

Even if you don't play the slots, it's worth giving it a try because they are the loosest slots in town.

Have a good time, TW.

Apparently Vegas has some of the best high end restaurants in the country... if it's in the budget and you're a fine dining kinda guy.  That pancake, eggs, and bacon with a paper napkin and treadplate wall lining is looking just my style tho.

TAPE, I've eaten (fine-dined) at a good number of those LV restaurants you are thinking about and there are four things they have in common:

High Prices
Good Service
Good Sauces/Gravies
ANd most fine dining joints serve very small but artistically placed portions.

Supposedly the number one high end restaurant in LV is and has been for a damn long time ..... Michael's which was formerly located in Mike Gaughan's Barbary Coast but recently moved to the South Point when he bought it.

Everything in this place is super expensive (average restaurant price X 2)  but very good. I've never fine dined at Michael's b ut Only Me ate there on a few occasions with Chuck and other Hollywood starts and the tab was always picked up by his uncle who owned a small interest in the casino  and could (and often did) clear one of the craps tables for the personal use of his guests.

Keith won and lost a lot of money at those tables in them good old days , but he always enjoyed talking about his winnings as well as his losses.

But BOUCHON's in the MGM is also considered to be very good but friends spent close to $2,000 for a threesome dinner recently. I've never eaten there because I'm always satisfied by the  $7 steak special served 24/7 at Ellis Island.

Bad sauce!
Bad service.
But big portions and a very small price.

Most people say that the best steaks house is the Steakhouse in Circus Circus. I've eaten there many times and it's "hit and miss" and getting in there is a fiasco because you have to walk mid-way through the Circus Circus lobby and casino which is a major eye-sore full of screaming kids and strollers and half drunk yelling parents.

For a decent steak you might want to try the Steakhouse in the Golden Nugget.

I have a feeling that TW had a meal or two in Ellis Island this past week.

Hell of a rain-storm last nite and still raining this morning .
