If these were men, we'd laugh and scoff at them and call them desperate, and that they cannot get women of their own age, and something is wrong with them. And indeed I believe it's true. So, cannot that be applied to the women?
I think if you look at each case individually, you may see a combo of these issues, with one or two possibly dominating.

How about defending a pedophile who started a religion. Its outright wrong no matter what. Its ok when that said pedophile is the high priest of your religion I suppose.
