They will have to find a donor first (hopefully one of his relatives) if he is waiting for a cadaveric, he will probably die on dialysis (avg. life expectancy is 6-8 yrs) and the wait list is HUGE! Not trying to be negative just realistic.
He is probably trying to recruit one of his relatives at this point. I hope he finds ones because life on dialysis SUCKS big time, and every day you spend on it longer before your transplant decreases your life expectancy.

I am a kidney specialist. Average life expectancy on dialysis is four years if you are diabetic and five years if not. Obviously, this is for all comers so younger dialysis patients do better. Leading cause of death is infection or cardiovascular disease.

Guys, take it easy on D.A. I understand some his antics may have riled you up in the past, but I imagine he did it to get a rise out of everybody. Bodybuilding is a sport, although it seems to excel nowadays you have to take things to the extreme including steroids, GH, insulin, etc. However, the guy faced a life threatening condition and is now doing well. No matter how much of a jerk you think he is, it is not becoming to wish harm or death on an individual. Dialysis hits moms, dads, teachers, priests, and people from all walks of life. Give him the benefit of the doubt and see how he does with a new kidney. I wish him well and hopes he does not abuse his body with anabolics any longer or uses any more ilicit drugs. However, until he proves that he can't handle a second chance and ruins a kidney, it is not humane to wish him harm. I love GETBIG, but the hate spewed sometimes is ridiculous. These are people you have never met. He may be a completely different individual than what is portrayed on his website or GETBIG. I wish him the best, and hope he lives a long and prosperous life. Narcotics like Nubain can affect the liver, but not nearly close to what steroids do, and you would have to take enormous amounts over many years. I have never heard of heroin addicts suffering kidney damage, but steroids users with kidney problems are a dime a dozen.
Steroids are extremely dangerous. I am glad I haven't used them since 2004, and my health has improved by leaps and bounds since I stopped. The worst mistake I made in my life was to use steroids for bodybuilding purposes. I have probably dimished my lifespan by at least 10 years, and I am sure that I am still having health problems in the future due to the dozens of cycles I made from around 2002 until 2004.

If had the choice in the here and now, I WOULD not agree to giving my kidneys to a helpless drug addict. On the other hand I'd be more than happy to donate them to someone that would treat their new organs(and themselves) with respect. I'm sure there are more than enough good people out there in the need of a kidney or two so that my kidneys wouldn't have to go to waste if I refused to give them to a pathetic drug abuser.

A friend of mine had a kidney transplant at 32 because of narcotics. One year or so on heroin busted his kidneys (after alcohol/haxixe abuse since his puberty).
The worst health problem i see around here is heart attack around the age of 40 for long time steroid users.

GH15's greatest mistake was him telling the masses that steroids are not bad for you as long as you stay away from narcotics.
Steroids in high doses non stop are absolutely horrible for the body; heart, kidneys, arteries, just about everything.
Getting dehydrated while on steroids from rec drugs obviously speeds up the damage.
Funny he says 'narcotics' as if they are all the same. Some drugs don't affect the kidneys one bit. You can eat oxycontin all day
until the cows come home, and you aren't going to do any kidney damage. Snort lines of blow all day every day, and you will definitely

There is medical research showing that high levels of testosterone are healthier than low levels in aging men. High levels meaning
high-natural, what most people get from 150mg of test per week. People are kidding themselves if they think 2g+ cycles with 500mg
bridges or cruises are safe for their body. Even people on 150mg a week for HRT sometimes have hematocrit issues and lipid problems....
but people that take massive dose year round won't have problems? lol
At least he mentioned that diuretics are a huge cause of kidney problems in BB'ers.... I won't touch them, and I would bet they are the

I'm reading about it. Some people live 10+ years on dialysis if they started young and take excellent care of themselves, and much of it is genetic. Very sad and scary. My uncle passed away a year ago. I think he was on dialysis about 6 months. Swelled up very big, then got better for a few months, then had sudden heart complications. I was onstage in Key west when I got the news he had passed. Shitty. Text message at 1 am. I miss ya uncle rick. But yeah, people can bounce back from it and live long lives, but there isn't much room for error.

You are right.
A friend of mine was already in trouble with his kidneys (due to narcotics), they just stop working every once and a while and even then he abused alcohol and haxixe.
And Derek if you think dialisis is a walk in the park, think again. My buddie had to remove his tyroid due to hipercalcemia and several other minor cirurgies due to unsteady blood filtration.

He engaged in some "shit talking" in his videos and posts on the internet, much as many of us do at times. I am not denying that he was at times offensive. However, I had no personal negative interactions with him. I have no reason to spew hateful remarks about him.
People make mistakes. I've made them and you've probably made some too. Do you think we should only be judged by what we did wrong? There is good and bad in everyone.
Perhaps one of the most honest comments I've read here about Derek is that "he died for you bitches" because there is value in folks seeing the truth in this. Perhaps someone somewhere will think twice about trashing their kidneys just to be more muscular after seeing what it did to Derek in his short lifespan. When my wife was in dialysis these past couple of months, I'd see young people hooked up to a machine and wonder what had befallen there health. Was it something, like drugs, that was self-inflicted or just some other misfortune?

From a strictly utilitarian point of view, one should respect the dead because it serves as an example to the living that what one does in life (whether positively or negatively) matters even after one dies. It's kind of like an atheist's version of paradise and hell, you get remembered in a good or bad light by your descendants for all "eternity"
From an emotional point of view, people tend to respect the dead because any death is seen as a tragic event (despite its inevitability) and because they are reminded of their own mortality which makes them think about how they themselves would want to be "treated" once they're gone.

Actually the second round of chemo for his liver tumor killed him. Kidney disease and heart disease were co morbidities.

1. I would never pay for a webcam session from anyone
2. The webcam stuff that Derek did was the VERY LEAST of his activities...some of which I had erased and destroyed to keep it from ever seeing the light of day.

No one else showed up or signed his book from RX Muscle, MD, etc....not even Charles Moser for GAT. All he had was his family at the most
4. You are correct that me and Derek were friends...even after the spitting incident which I actually blame John Romano for that whole debacle rather than him. However, that ended when he threatened to murder my mother and my family. At that point, I made sure that he died knowing that he would never be forgiven by me.
5. Derek had liver cancer and was on dialysis but all the steroids and synthol were just a contributing factor in his death....and again its something I'm not going to disclose
In any event, he's long dead and I see no reason to drag him up from the grave.

When someone accuses someone else of something, they don't need to go to the trouble of denying it, particularly if the accuser isn't credible. Sometimes it is better to simply ignore people's (false) accusations. Whether someone buys webcam shows or not is there business anyway. Derek apparently produced pornographic webcam shows of himself, I assume for the sole purpose of making money off people. Which is worse, admitting your a G4P whore or admitting watching someone's webcam show? Seems like the old "pot calling the kettle black" thing. Both men were adults. What they did or did not do hurt no one and is no one's business. It is simply fodder for busybody gossips.
