Title: The Coach vs The Effervescent: The difference is stunning
Post by: jephrius on September 23, 2014, 03:23:39 PM
Both train with weights. Virtually the same age, yet The Coach looks to be from two generations before The Effervescent.  The Coach looks like a gym teacher on the verge of retirement,  while The Effervescent looks like a high school senior. Simply amazing. Hard to believe these guys are the same age. Will posts pics a little later.

I am sure if Coach wanted to he can get into shape like Groink. I am not saying he will look exactly like Groink. But he is more than capable if achieving a similar physique.

If he could, why doesn't he? Besides, there is more here than just physique. We're talking skin quality, hair line, the projection of youthfulness. The Effervescent is 50 and looks 19.

Because Coach is 52 and does not care. I mean, he is married and has a family and has a business. He is probably healthy. No sense of becoming "ripped." The question is: Why should he look like Groink?

Wasn't coach in a competition just 2 or 3 years ago?

He looked awesome for his age.

I don't think he cares too much about walking around in single digits but if we are talking strictly bodybuilding he could easily regain a complete package shape that is on par with Groink within a matter of weeks, 2 or 3 months at most.

I thought it was quite a number of years since he competed. I could be wrong.

But I agree, Coach definitely has the knowledge to get back into single digits if he wishes.  He probably just doesn't see the need for it.

Yeah I think it might have be a few more than what I thought.

This pic is from about 6 years ago but still pretty damn impressive for a man in his mid 40's.

"Why doesn't he"? Why should I when you can only hold a certain level of conditioning for so long? Hair? I have my hair and the only gray I have is on my head. I don't ware clothes that are tight and too small for me. Skin quality? Lol.

I have no desire that level of narcissism. I don't go to clubs, I'm not single.

Hardcore year round juicing for vanity reasons at 50. Only reason I can think of people doing this, is that the "muscle" is the only thing they have going for them. Pretty sad actually. Props to coach for not getting caught in this.

People getting up in the morning and taking a shower and shaving , putting on nice clean clothes for vanity reasons.

True, better be dead before that happens I agree.

BTW, if I remember correctly, don't you advocate working out with light weights to decrease stress on the body? To reduce injury risk?
Exactly the same argument can be used for this issue.

Not really, nothing ages you faster and puts you in a home is the inability to get around on your own.
Using huge weights is a one way trip to infirmity.
Shuffling around on crutches ages anyone.
