The 9ers beat Denver and knocked them out of the playoffs. Had Seattle lost too the 9ers would have won the NFC West on having beaten them twice. If the 9ers were in the playoffs last year, would they have been feared? I doubt it. Same point goes with the Steelers. They WERE NOT a threat to be a good playoff contender.
