" Which Tyson are we talkin' about here pre - incarceration or now? Anyway, MMA rules or not Tyson would rip into Tito like Desiree Wahington. How the f**k can anybody else see it any other way is funny. Styles do make fights yes, but after seeing Ortiz against Lidell, I mean that was practically a boxing match against a trailer trash and he couldn't find his range for a take down, how the f**k is he gonna deal w/ a world class talent. Hell if RJJ just had some balls I don't think he'll even beat him, sh* t forget Tyson, I'll throw in that gorilla they call " Lights Out " he'll pivot on him all night and catch a hook , just ask Jirov!"
" Also Tito has lost his lasts few fights to punchers none of which hit half as hard as Tyson it would be over real quick. Tito would have experience in a clinch but he would still be outpowered by Tyson or head butted or bitten who knows Tyson can get real crazy.
"
It cracks me up how people tend to insult the intellegence of these boxers. With MMA being mainstream and the appeal of the sport being more hugh than ever, do you really think that fighters like Jones or Tyson would be naive enough to just get in there with only their boxing skills?
Bas Rutten said that the best way for a primary striker or wrestler to get ready for MMA is for them to stop training completly in their own respective discipline and for them to focus on cross training in another area well suited to make them more diverse. Like if you are a wrestlker you would only train in striking for a bit and if you are a striker you would only train in grappling for a bit. The fact that you are a atheletic fighter, your brain is programmed to quickly gather input in learning any new style bought upon you so that you can quickly adapt to that style. Why you think it only think like 6 months to a year for primary strikers like Rutten and Cro Cop to learn how to grappler.
And with the fame that Tyson and Jones have, any well known team would jump into the oppertunity to train them for months before their MMA deut was to be set. Look at what Bas Rutten has been doing with the ex-one dimensional street brawler Kimbo.
