« on: March 10, 2009, 12:58:58 PM »
it was brought up in the thread where Getbig Ron interviewd frank mir and seemed like a good debate..... so....
lets have at it.....
a ufc fight between Mike Tyson vs. Brock Lesnar......

obviously tyson is retired so lets go with - tyson in his prime against ufc lesnar of today....

I'm willing to bet any heavyweight besides Chris Byrd could take Lesnar. Lennox Lewis would make hamburger out of him.

good point.... in a ufc fight, if lesnar stays away from tyson's puches, shoots and gets him to the ground......  could be game over.... if it were a boxing match, witcha on that nd tyson all day....

If the most devastating combination-puncher in history can't neutralize Lesnar, before he gets a hold on him,no one can.

Tentatively Tyson, because Lesnar is still a relative novice in the standup department.

I think in his prime tyson woulda taken lennox, even if lewis was in his prime.... because when they did fight tyson was on his way out the door.
lesnar in a ufc fight beats lennox lewis.... because ^^^ I think in their respective primes tyson>lewis

I think lennox's size negates tyson's advantage. that jab was a jackhammer.

Tyson in his prime by a country mile.

your fucking right

tyson was an animal. a heavyweight world champion who killed everyone who stood in his way. brock lesnar was a college wrestler and WWE superstar.  ::)

he grew up in brooklyn- im sure a street fight would actually be an advantage to him over lesnar.

and there is no way lesnar could match his hand speed or power.

i'm just curious- to everyone who says lesnar would win in a streetfight- have you ever been in one? if your picking lesnar, then you haven't.

thanks for playing.

one punch and lights out for lesnar.

(since the opening post said in a UFC fight) Not a tough one to call at all. Most mma fighters would just immediately shoot in for a takedown on him. There is strong empirical evidence that Tyson would have zero chance. It's like asking how well Carl Lewis would have done in major league baseball. Just because baseball contains running, doesn't mean he'll do that well.

exactly, Tyson was meaner than a starving crocodile and was a big strong heavyweight who had the hand speed of a middleweight and more power than almost any boxer in history, he'd have DESTROYED Lesnar.

Strange,I think Tyson's jab was as good or even better than Lewis in his prime.
Lewis was a genius working off his jab,but the jab was more often than not merely a paw or used as a rangefinder.

Ali.Maybe Foreman or Liston. The rest are debatable from the film evidence.

Once again, we are having this stupid pointless argument about "who is better".  ::)

Boxing - Tyson would win (Lesnar is not a boxer)

Wrestling - Lesnar wold win (Tyson is not a wrestler)

This, hopefully, should be the end of the thread.
