A professional bodybuilder has been sentenced in Florida to a year and a half in prison for illegally distributing anabolic steroids.

A federal judge on Monday handed down the sentence to 51-year-old Don Long in Jacksonville. The judge also sentenced Long's wife, Sarah, to a year of home confinement and gave his steroid supplier, Gregory Baker, a sentence of three years in federal prison.

U.S. District Judge ordered the Longs to forfeit $250,000 and Baker was ordered to forfeit more than $124,000 and five vehicles.

Prosecutors say the Longs supplied clients with steroids and human growth hormone as part of a training regimen for bodybuilding competitions.

Prosecutors say Baker imported the drugs from China.

The Longs pleaded guilty earlier this year and Baker entered a guilty plea last year.

What's stupid is that they are legalizing marijuana, a drug that keeps you dumbed down and eventually a paranoid lunatic but you can't take testosterone or derivatives of. Fucking lame.

Its a good thing they start to make cannabis legal. In moderation it will make your life better.

But the same argument goes for roids. And everything else essentially.

The path Norway is taking now seems to be the most productive. Making all personal drug consumtion legal.

For some reason, the word «steroids» is and has been always portraited as «evil». It's meds, nothing else.

Is Norway removing the requirement for physician prescriptions, like in some poorer nations? Somehow I doubt that?

Its more of a diffrent focus in politics. Instead of punishing a person with a small quantity of drugs for personal use its shifted to helping people living better more productive lives. Getting contact with doctors etc. Alot of people involved in drugs stay away from making even minor health checks because they are afraid.

This thinking is based on what Portugal implemended with great succes in 2001.

THE whole "medical" use around it is getting ridiculous

I smoked for 25 years. Grew for half that time. Don't anymore.

I've seen it all and the amount of people who actually needed it for health purposes was so small that when I hear about it's medical use from people that just want to get high, or exploit it for making money or governments that need it for more revenue, it leaves a really bad taste in my mouth.

It's why I've become so cynical about weed. Too many stoners trying to tie medicine and spiritual enlightenment to glorify what is nothing more then their own addiction.

Sobriety really is the best. However I wouldn't make it illegal if people still want to partake. Just be honest about the intentions, to distort reality for what is perceived to be a more enjoyable time and not the medicine jargon.
