It's no secret that body shaming still exists, and it can be especially prevalent for celebrities and people in the public eye.
And it turns out even the former First Lady of the US, Michelle Obama, isn't unaffected by the prospect of coming under scrutiny when it comes to body shaming.
In fact, her husband Barack Obama has reportedly revealed that one of Michelle's goals as First Lady was to never be photographed by the paparazzi in a bikini or swimming costume, presumably partly down to the prospect of receiving harsh comments and not wanting her privacy to be violated.
In his new memoir The Promised Land, Barack tells a story of how he and daughter Sasha were once heading on a trip to the beach, with Michelle refusing to go with them. He goes on to say that Michelle had vowed that as First Lady she wouldn't be photographed in a swimsuit.
Barack has since told Vanity Fair, "She [Michelle] was serious. 'This is one of my main goals as First Lady. I will not be photographed by the paparazzi in a bathing suit,' [she said]. And she succeeded."

Its a bodybuilding site yes? We judge everyone by their physique. Michelle could have used her 8 years to get her weight and obesity under control. Instead, Barack feeding her biscuits, gravy, pork grinds, etc. Thats cool - but he is fat shaming her here.

Michelle Obama was and continues to be a classy lady. Not that there's anything wrong with being photographed wearing a swimsuit. Jackie Kennedy was photographed in one as was Hillary Clinton. It is likely that Melania Trump is the only First Lady to have been photographed in the nude for a commercial publication. Times change and what one chooses to be photographed wearing is their choice, which is as it should be.
