Steroids killed my husband
« on: December 01, 2021, 05:17:46 AM »
Anyone remember this article in either M&F or Flex magazine some time in the early 80s (82-83?).

I remember a picture of what I thought was an old geezer in his 60s looking terrible hitting a side chest.  Also the article quoted the guy's wife as saying that he began taking these little blue pills (which meant something very different for men in their 60s back then than it does today).

Anyone recall this article?

Old Flex magazines going for 10-30 bucks a piece on Ebay.  Can't find the article among these though.

there are multiple examples of this every year, just none of them reference Palumbo or Ruhl.

But this was something about an old dude in his late 50s or early 60s taking them and in the early 80s.  I was shocked to read it at the time.

I assume this thread is meant for those over 50 years old who might have been reading FLEX when they were a teen?

I had most of the 90's issues. Be cool to flip through them and read all the bullshit I believed as a teen

I think it was some old schmoe that croaked and the "girl" was a tranny .
The geezer keeled over on "her" back while humping the bejesus out of "her" fart locker.

Anyone remember that steroid book that had Dickerson on the cover. I think I read it in 1976.  I was shocked at the time. It talked about every anabolic steroid available at the time.

I don't remember that one, but Dickerson gave my 1st BB trophy when I placed in the 1978 Mr Eastern Seaboard ( age 19 teen div).

Yep, I think that's it.  Hadn't thought of it in decades but would like to read it again for kicks
