YES!  A-Rod has bagged more top 10 models than homeruns hit.

Mays took greenies - he wasn't clean.

600 is a tremendous feat.  ARod's been a douche, but he gets it now.   You can see the difference in his quotes, interviews, etc....

92 hrs in the two years after military service years played in windblown candlestick park. 36 hrs in half a season when manager told him to go for ba wins ba title and only hits 5 more that year. a-fraud guy who just tries to pad his numbers.

I can't stand when people talk about the older players as if it was more pure - those guys were looking for an edge all the same,  they just found it through different mediums.

I'm not disparaging their greatness, either.  It's just that they played ball at a different time.  When Mays played, a pitcher without good stuff on that day still pitched well into the game.  Mays didn't have to hit against relief specialists, all throwing 95 with different stuff, using steroids, etc.

Comparing actual numbers between the eras is an exercise in futility - there's too many variables.  Look at a player's totals in terms of deviation from the league mean - both Mays and Arod were/are tremendous ballplayers.

Well said...historians seem to have convenient memory lapses when it comes to "purity of the game"....come to think of it...if both the pitcher AND the batter are using AAS, then isn't it all relative?

Holy shit, 600 what? Euros?

That's like a 3 years salary in Romania...  :o :o :o

I think if he volunteered to do that, he would receive a lot of checks.  ;D

But no fear, the idiot will off himself some day when he wants to get big again and does another 3 weeks 300mg Dianabol ed cycle.

That's it. The man could put the whole bunch of retards that serve as his family in a safe place with that kind of money considering the shithole he lives in.
I can wait for his next bulking cycle  ;D.

your right both are great players, but you can actually pretty much compare players from different eras look how ruth's 714 was the magic number from the 20 and 30's held up till aaron passed him and then bonds. your other argument has some valadity but don't forget today's baseball is somewhat watered  down as more lesser talents make it because of the greater amount of teams.the giants would roll into la and have to face koufax drysdale and podres right in a row with ron perranoski and phil the vulture regan coming out of the pen.
