No wonder Powell didn’t commit to extra hikes. Here are five reasons the January jobs report may be too good to be true.

There’s reason to believe that, at least on the payrolls front, the January numbers were a one-off.

Economists at Morgan Stanley point out that the January number reflects three factors it believes to be temporary: unusually warm weather, the resolution of California higher-education strikes and a very strong seasonal adjustment boost. “Seasonal effects are a zero-sum game over the year, so it is likely that the boost in January will be paid for by weaker prints through the first half of the year,” they said in a note published late on Tuesday.

Steve Englander, head of North American macro strategy at Standard Chartered, delves into another set of numbers produced by the Labor Department, the Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages. This report is the subject of a new analysis from the Philadelphia Fed that made its way onto Zero Hedge and then Tucker Carlson. The long and short of it is, the Philadelphia Fed’s analysis of QCEW data found that second quarter of 2022 jobs were overstated by roughly a million.

Englander is not alleging a vast conspiracy. But he finds the QCEW data, which is based on administrative data on more than 10 million establishments, quite reliable, and his own regression found the risk of a 1.1 million overstatement in payrolls in the second quarter. “It is a long way from a suspicious deviation in Q2-2022 data to a January 2023 employment surge, but it raises the possibility that NFP is more erratic than in the past,” he says.

Being based on such a huge set of data, the QCEW takes far longer to compile. The QCEW report on the third quarter of 2022 will be released on Feb. 22, so in two weeks. “If the Q3-2022 QCEW release points to any degree of labor-market softness, questions on the reliability of NFP could be raised,” he says.

Englander further notes the household survey — the part of the jobs report used to calculate the unemployment rate — also points to a softer jobs picture than the payrolls number suggests. The household report also suggests that nearly all the jobs created over the last year are part time.

Biden’s Brother Was Paid to Settle Business Dispute with Saudis during VP Tenure

Jim Biden, the brother of the president, reportedly was enlisted to help settle a business dispute between a U.S. construction company and the Saudi government because of his relation to then–vice president Joe Biden.

Jim Biden’s bargaining with the Saudi regime is likely to invite the scrutiny of the House Oversight Committee, now led by the GOP, as it probes how the Biden family potentially abused its political clout in overseas dealings.

White House: Unfortunately, UFO Debris May Never Be Found
American Action News ^ | 02/15/2023 | Alexander J. Williams III
Posted on 2/15/2023, 10:58:02 AM by SeekAndFind

After the U.S. military shot down a total of three UFOs – the debris may be unable to be recovered
The U.S. military shot down a total of three UFOs, one over Alaska on Friday, one over Canada on Saturday, and a third over Lake Huron on Sunday. Currently, information surrounding the UFOs or where these aircrafts came from is currently unknown.

Unfortunately for those seeking answers, these answers may not be coming any time soon, as multiple officials have come out and made statements about the difficulty of recovering the debris from the UFOs.

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters on Monday:

“I think it’s important to remind: the objects in Alaska and Canada are in pretty remote terrain — ice, wilderness, all of that — making it difficult to find them in winter weather… And the object over Lake Huron now lies in what is probably very deep water.”

However, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre would be able to provide a small glimpse of information, adding:

“[There was] no indication of aliens or extraterrestrial activity.”

Answers surrounding the UFOs, or even where they originated from, may be unable to ever be answered. Unless the near-impossible task of removing their debris is accomplished, officials will be left to only speculate on possible answers surrounding the UFOs.

As a senior Biden administration official told CNN on Tuesday morning:

“If it can’t be recovered, it’s going to be extremely difficult to say with great certainty what these things were.”

Did Biden Use $400,000 Missiles to Shoot Down Weather Balloons?
Townhall ^ | 02/15/2023 | Katie Pavlich
Posted on 2/15/2023, 11:38:28

It's been days since President Joe Biden directed the Pentagon to shootdown a number of "objects" he claims were a threat to U.S. airspace and commercial aircraft. There are no photos of the "objects," which White House officials say cannot be classified as balloons, and still no recovered debris after they were reportedly taken out by F-16 pilots using $400,000 missiles.

As officials drag their feet on providing details about what exactly the objects were, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre won't say whether Biden scrambled fighter jets to shoot down benign and routine weather balloons.

REPORTER: "If it turns out...that the president and Mr. Trudeau sent top gun fighters to blow weather balloons out of the sky, does the president regret that? And is he embarrassed by that?"

KJP: "We just don't know yet." pic.twitter.com/02rljbp6fQ— Townhall.com (@townhallcom) February 14, 2023

During remarks to reporters Monday, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin gave a preview of how additional "objects" could be handled.

"We will evaluate each and every event on its own merits, and we'll make decisions based upon the recommendations of the NORTHCOM NORAD commander, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, and they'll make recommendations to me, and I'll evaluate and make recommendations to the President," Austin said. "Again, these three events, each of them presented a risk to safety of flight. We don't know if they were actually collecting intelligence, but because of the route that they took, out of an abundance of caution, we want to make sure we have the ability to examine what these things are and potentially what they were doing."

This is what's really going on here: The Biden administration royally screwed up by allowing the Chinese spy balloon into the U.S. after watching it approach. Americans noticed right before Blinken's trip to China and then government allowed it to traverse the whole country with surveillance equipment. Now, after creating a lack of deterrence nightmare, they're in damage control mode -- shooting down 'objects' while refusing to identify what they are.

'OK, Take Us To A Different Leader,' Say Exasperated Aliens After Trying To Communicate With Joe Biden
Babylon Bee ^ | 02/15/2023 | Babylon Bee
Posted on 2/15/2023, 2:11:

WASHINGTON, DC — An envoy of extraterrestrial beings stifled their frustration and asked to be taken to a different leader after their initial meeting with President Joe Biden left them confused and exasperated, sources say.

"I guess he's not the leader they were expecting," said an insider who spoke on the condition of anonymity. "It was the classic sci-fi movie scenario, with the aliens arriving and telling us, ‘Take us to your leader.' We quickly set up a meeting with President Biden, and things went downhill from there."

"The aliens were already asking why we kept shooting down their peace offering balloons containing Hickory Farms cheese and sausage gift baskets," disclosed another source present at the meeting. "But I guess it really started to get bad when the lead alien put out his hand to greet the President, and Joe bent down and bit the creature's finger."

Reports indicate that relations between the two sides only grew worse after the President began speaking. "The best we can tell, Joe had one of his typical verbal gaffes," the source said. "He said something that was totally unintelligible to us, but apparently, it sounded like some sort of horrible slur in the aliens' language. The aliens were offended, voices were raised, Joe may have messed his pants…it was a train wreck. Err, sorry, poor choice of words."

At publishing time, the aliens were reportedly already asking to be taken to a third leader after only spending 5 minutes trying to talk to Kamala Harris.

Biden State of the Union TV audience down 29% from 2022, lowest in 30 years
NY Post ^ | February 9, 2023 | By Mark Moore
Posted on 2/9/2023,

An estimated 27.3 million people watched President Biden’s State of the Union address on Tuesday — a 29% drop from the audience for last year’s speech and the fewest to view the event in at least 30 years, according to Nielsen Media Research.

The total number of viewers who tuned in Tuesday was off from the 38.2 million who watched the president’s speech in 2022 and substantially lower than the 46.7 million who viewed former President Donald Trump’s second State of the Union in 2019, the Nielsen data show.

The only smaller audience since 1993 came in 2021, when 26.9 million people saw Biden deliver an address to a joint session of Congress, which was not considered a State of the Union because he had been in office for less than a year.

By contrast, Trump’s first address to Congress in 2017 drew 47.7 million viewers.

It was the folks who missed Biden's recent state of the union address loss. It was excellent and somewhat entertaining, although also embarrassing when the few hecklers mouthed off, especially Marjorie Taylor Greene. The president took this in his stride saying he was “glad to see” the reaction from the booing and jeering Republicans, adding, “I enjoy conversion.” McCarthy shook his head and appeared to shush his members. I don't see Trump being this cool and collected. He would have blown up making regrettable comments about the hecklers as he so often does in his speeches and rallies.

Only 27million yet supposedly 88-+ million made the effort to vote for him yet not 50% could be bothered
To watch his speech, Hmmm nowt slightly odd about that .
Let alone the fact it was the least watched speech in 30yrs !! And how much has the population increased
In 30yrs ??
In way you judge it thats a dismal amount of viewing public - more proof less & less folk are remotely
Interested in what he is puppet reading off his autocue.

How anyone can try & say that it was a success on TV is just Ridiculous.
No way he ever got 88+million to vote for him - FFS he pales into insignificance compared to Fag.got man
O'buma & yet he sleepy Joe got more votes 😆😂😆😂😆
Yeah right as believable as the Propaganda about the China Virus.

Yep & I've a lovely bridge to sell you. 👍🏻

Good grief.  How many falls has this guy had?  You can see what happened is there were so many stairs and he is so weak that he had muscle failure.
