You can see his superior genetics for bodybuilding were the basis of his awesome development. :o
-
Yes, I don't know why he is not discussed here more as a bb...one of the best
-
A little short, but one of the greats, nonetheless.
-
Labrada, Padilla, Ray, and Priest are the best shorter bbs of all time.
-
HAHAAHAHA.
Genetics, that's funny. ;D

Prob add Franco, only bc he was an O winner...otherwise I did not like him
-
never really put any size on that chest tho

Brisbois
Bacchanini

kinda a small chest on the guy?

yes its not a good pose for him, at least, not the way he is holding is rigth arm behind him like that...really accentuates his lack of chest thickness

I really think Franco is overated. All he was really was a strong dude with a great back and chest. No legs, arms, and sorta blocky.
-
i saw him competing in the 80īs and early 90īs. For his height he was a perfect Bodybuilder, like he said "The mass with class".
Also known for being one of the best Poser in Bodybuilding.
-
true... Labrada has better poses. shallow and narrow, but quite symmetrical, whatever that means.

Yes, very true.
Great abs, chest and back....weak tris, fair bis, legs horrid...no business winning O...beaten by Zane in 76....by whole field in 81
-
Yeah he was definately a top competitor with a very asthetic lines.
He was definately mass with class but not enuff mass to tople Haney or Yates during the 7 years he was on the Olympia stage.
Anyone here (possibly someone who saw him on the Olympia stage during his career) ever reckon he should have taken 1st?
-
Who cares about his height or weight...........the guy looked flawless.

Seems the Olympia judges cared unfortunately for him.
Not to take anything away from Lee Haney as there was nothing quite like him but like u mention the word "flawless", Haneys legs were not up to the same size as his massive back and chest arms neither were his arms.
Also alot of complete mass packing shorter guys seem to have gotten the shaft over the years. I have never been to a pro show and dont know how they come accross on stage but I have seen plenty of video where guys like Lee Priest who are visibly shorter look like they are killing some of their opposition and the height doesnt seem like an issue at all yet the taller guys seem to place better on average.
-
the short guys just get totaly dwarfed and dominated,, not only in hight, but more in width and overall size,, they just look tiny when stood in the line up
-
You know what they say........."A good tall guy always beats a good short guy"
Kinda` sucks for the shorter guys mentioned in this thread as they were incredible bodybuilders.
-
rather be tall

In my many years in bb, in all that I have witnessed, I'd aver tha most of the winners hail from wither the MW or LHW class....given to medium to shorter height winners.

Candizzle says his chest sucks.
-
never really put any size on that chest tho
You should teach him how to improve that weakpoint then..

Candizzle certainly knows about putting size on, yes....
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOM!

Mr. Ray is the man
-
Lee Labrada was one of the sport's greatest, no question. Plus, he is a true gentleman. Fortress dares suggest if a majority of pros were of Lee's character and charisma bodybuilding would be in much better shape than it is today.

1990, Haney off, Labrada and Ray looked better than Haney. Tested show, Momo, DeMey, etc tested positive.
-
amazing physique
-
The man constantly improved. By 1993 he was around 200 pounds, which is phenomenal for his height (5'5"-5'6").
If he would have been 5'9"-5'11", who would he have compared to in terms of physiques.
His physique was very reminiscent of a certain 5'4" Egyptian by the name of Mohammed Makaway.
-
Yes, Makkawy was the last man to beat Haney, wasnt he?
Weak hams, otherwise great physique, known for getting in shape in record time.
