He told the 911 operator that the 'asshole' and 'punk' was running away, was going to get away.
He was pissed off, he had a gun, and he chased a kid 2 blocks. Then they fought, he wasn't doing so hot, so he shot the kid.
He created a fight with an unarmed person who broke no law.
And I think ANY of us - if an armed man, 10 years older, has chased us 2 blocks in the darkness - we're hitting him with a fist, a rake, a brick, or ANYTHING ELSE when he finally catches us. Only an idiot would greet the armed chaser with "How can I help you, sir?" The minor felt scared as shit, and fought. As would any of us.

yeah, i think he'll plead to 8 years or so, as the trials gets close and he realizes he could be locked up for 25+ years.
He really did cause the fight. In his own words, trayvon ran away. He picked up his gun and gave chase.
Personally, I would have lied prone in a ditch and iced the armed man chasing me thru the dark as he came around the corner - as I would be 100% legal, very much in fear for my life. He's lucky trayvon only threw a punch - try that shit on a grown man, chasing me thru the dark with your guy when I've broken no laws, and I'm gonna feel threatened and exercise my legal right to protect self.

Yea people forget to see the kid's side of the story. not as if it was a cop in uniform chasing after him. For all we know he kid thought this guy was trouble.
If this was a story of just Zimmerman gettin beat up without what followed later, I suspect people would interpret the story in favor of Trayvon.

Zimmerman was using a front inside waistband holster. You have to put your hand on the gun while running in order to keep it from falling out. a 9mm keltec.

fair enough - however there is a belief that zimmerman took the back route behind the houses, and trayvon was taking the road.
a neighborhood pro like zimmerman would know what path to take to intercept the kid. At this point, (see map below), Zimm now stood between trayvon and his destination.

As an outsider with no dog in this fight: of course Zimmermann will walk. He's a hispanic, in a state full of hispanics, who murdered a young black man. Who did what is completely moot.
I personally would say that Zimmermann might have gotten the benefit of my doubt, if the shooting had happened where the point of first contact was. But he chased Trayvon, which, in a just legal system, should instantly invalidate his Stand Your Ground defense.

Bullshit. It'd be the SAME situation. It's your word, without proof. It's the same situation. You're still standing over a dead guy when the police arrive.
I've always thought of you as intelligent but your conspiracy theory nonsense and your willingness to draw conclusions where this is not enough evidence to be sure of anything - it smacks of stupid. Using sentences like "if I were a juror.." - oh boy, you would never be a juror, you're too taken with the story and the romance of getting angry about it.
It isn't necessary to choose a side - you know nothing that conclusively proves the nature of the final encounter. You don't know either person - so you have absolutely no idea whether the man is a liar, or not. You simply do not know, yet you assert what happens because some nutjob whacked out a few mspaint pictures to support the romance of a direct confrontation, at the choice of the fat mexican. Fuck yeah, let's believe the juiciest rendition of this sordid affair!
What you can say is that the man most definitely had a large hand in someone's unnecessary death and that's really what manslaughter is about.
I remember Rollins being interviewed about the WM3, back in the day, when he was going out and playing shows to support their legal fees. Even with the documentaries and whatnot, the guy had the good grace to say "Look, I don't know if these kids are guilty or not guilty - but I know they didn't get a proper trial and that's what I'm about". That's class. That's how to be objective and that, my friend, is how to stay smart.
(It's also how to not believe in Jesus, but that's another story ;D)

Key points.
We know that Zimmerman was armed and pursuing Trayvon on foot a few minutes before he shot him dead.
Zimmerman's physical injuries are not consistent with his story of being hit in the face more than a dozen times and having his head smashed off concrete(hanity interview). Injuries seen in the numerous photos of Zimmerman's face soon after the killing are not those of someone who has just been a fight that would make a "reasonable" person fear for their life.
Jury will reach one of two conclusions, either Zimmerman is a complete liar or he is not a reasonable person and grossly overestimated the danger he was in.
