I believe Kobyashi has retired after developing either arthritis like issues with his jaw or a TMJ problem(Temporal Mandibular joint...where jawbone meets skull...just to the front of the ear lobe). In either case it is very painful and may have ended his competitive eating days. You none the less will have plenty of other contestants to compete against. Remember the woman called the BLACK WIDOW..Sonja something I can't remember her last name... is a fierce competitor. So get your jaws ready.
