Title: Y boarders diet attempts
Post by: Grape Ape on January 05, 2014, 10:06:18 AM
If interested, post what you eat for the day if you're trying to do something.

I'm trying to eat cleaner, lower carb on cardio days, higher on lifting days.  Today was cardio.

2 eggs
grilled pineapple
grilled tomato

4-5 oz salmon
quinoa

10 almonds
1/3 cup blackberries

30g protein bar while at baseball clinic

grilled pesto turkey sausage
1.5 cup broccoli

cup green juice
1/4 cup chia seeds
scoop trader joe super green
cup kale
cup spinach
45g whey

3 cups coffee

That should do it...no idea of macro counts or calories

I usult eat shrimp or fish and kale for breakfast

Beef and fruit for lunch

Whatever for dinner...

I've discovered with this diet I can bulk and cut...just have to adjust the portion accordingly

Maybe you can help with kale - do you freeze it?  The bag always goes bad after 5 days, and I don't want to eat that much of it, unless you have a good way.  I just put in blender.

I sauté it with sliced garlic and a little pepper...I make a lot of it and just put it in fridge

I also eat blueberries, raspberries, and oranges every day...not after 7pm though

Kale/Spinach/Whey/Chia/Super Green

Chicken/apples/avocado

96 lean beef / almonds / fruit

Chicken / zuccini / squash

More kale/spinach/whey

Bulleit Burboun 1....2?

That's the gist of the eating.  I'll add oatmeal on days where I lift, but yesterday did Wendler 5/3/1 for both squat and CG bench, and made my numbers.

I have genetically high cholesterol, so I've always looked at the trendy shit.....

The cool thing is, I buy my stuff at Costco, and they've recently added popular health stuff - so I can buy Chia, EV Coconut oil, Himalayan pink salt, etc at a cheaper price than even online provides.

Depends on whom I'm playing with-Clavins Dad who turned 70 last year we ride. he was a mailman in his younger years and walked his route so he figures he's done enough walking, plus the other two are overweight and in their 60's.
when I'm on vaca golf trip we always ride.
any other time I walk and carry my bag, no push cart.

serious question Clavin,....Im going to be playing this year, had been planning since last year to get back into it this year. Now as you know i am not a 198 pound fellow, 260 to be honest, and have a limited swing radius and not so much club head speed. My game is short and straight. What irons would you recommend for me, remembering that I am not a rich man, so something under 500 dollars would be nice.

TaylorMade-Rocketballz HP irons
Wilson Ci 11 irons

Taylor's are $100 more.
$499 for graphite and $399 for steel but you get 4-gap wedge.
Wilson $100 cheaper but only 4-PW.
both would be right what you're looking for.
Taylors are a bigger brand name and will probably be easier for you to get.

...Honestly I'm partial to Wilson because I use them.

Is that where they match up your swing, clubs, etc to the proper ball?  That's awesome.

I read an article about a guy who did that - but it included clubs, and wasn't sponsored by any brand - just a private.  He got titleist clubs and a Maxfli Noodle.  Said he was 20 yards longer instantly.

It makes sense - we all generally use clubs the same length and angles when we're all vastly different physically and swing wise.

Yeah you swing your driver {they are actually being very cool about it. you can't bring clubs into the expo but they asked me what kind of driver I used so they would have one on hand even thought it's not their make or model!} then they check ball speed, flight , spin and make a recommendation.
it's all free but I'll still buy some golf balls.

Will try, but it's going to be tough.  It's an older model, as the RB 2 is already out and old as well.   I'm finding bonded ones, but I want the kind I can adjust the loft up and down an degree.  I tend to hit high, so I want to be able to drop it to 8 degrees if it's the case with the new one.

Man I'm so opposite. I hit my drives low with not enough spin. I have a 10.5 and sometimes that is even to low.

...just haven't increased the loft in my driver, doesn't seem manly to be hitting an 11 :-[
