No shit.  It's like a business, revenue in has to be more than revenue out.  The rich need to shell out a bit more, but so does everybody else.  I would take a beating for the next five years tax wise to get us out of debt.  The whole country needs to tighten it's purse strings, so to speak.

let the tax cuts expires for EVERYONE and no one group can piss and moan when everyone shares in the burden

How about we STOP THE EXCESSIVE SPENDING? Stop keeping people on unemployment indefinitely.

It doesn't matter how much you jack up taxes. If you spend more than you make, you will be in debt, PERIOD.

no doubt let's stop spending but let's also let the Bush tax cuts expire......and we don't really have to waste our time debating it because that is exactly what is going to happen in a few weeks

Spending will never stop. Period.

The taxes will happen, they won't collect as much revenue as projected, spending will continue to climb and we will all be back to this point in another year or two.

We have  passed the point of diminishing returns when it comes to deficit spending/stimulus/gimmick programs/Fed inflationary policy/ZIRP etc. But those policies will continue until they are forced to stop from outside forces or forces from within.
