I think that pic is misleading because Dorian is squared up, whereas Shawn has his shoulders fwd and in for that pose. Try it an see how you look compared to be squared up relaxed.

A better comparison would be both Shawn and Dorian in the front relaxed pose

Shawn has narrow clavicles as well not as evident because he's not 6 pounds of sugar stuffed in a 5 pound bag like Phil

Exactly my point, it doesn't flow, not balanced like Shawns physique.

I worked out with JJ Marsh and it was rumored that he & Sean were cousins. I never trained with Sean outside that episode.

They were cousins. I trained with both JJ and Sean back in the early 90's at Powerhouse Gym in Fountain Valley and then World Gym In HB.

From this photo it is obvious that Phil is on a different level from Shawn.

Not to blow smoke up Shawn's ass but Phil may be developed more than anyone, but I prefer the quality of Shawn's physique

Anyone who knows anything about bodybuilding knows that Shawn is beating Phil in that back double bicep pose.

Although Phil is bigger, Shawn has WAY more detail in his back and hamstrings. Phil's shoulders and back looks bloofy and watery; Shawns back looks like a road map.

And Phil looks absolutely atrocious in the front relaxed spread. Horrible proportions.

You can't tell that from pics.   Side by side on stage, Sean's perceived advantage in condition might get completely obliterated by the size difference.

Both look awesome though.

Shawn....who in your opinion...over the span of your entire competitive career.....was the most impressive bodybuilder you ever viewed in person? I mean...just standing there. Whether at a weigh in, pump room or in the gym. Even if the person wasnt a top competitor-placer. Very curious. Thank you.

hey parker, that's definitely an excellent point.....DID ANY OF THESE GUYS HAVE A LAWYER at least look at the contracts they were signing??..or was it just show up at Weider's office, sign the contract, and trust ole uncle Joe???....

He was far ahead , if you want to argue aesthetics you could make a case or what the ideal of the sport should represent  , but in terms of professional bodybuilding and the IFBB judging criteria Dorian was eons ahead of Shawn , and everyone else.

Both at there best its a very tough call
Phil's Bigger but not necessarily better

we'll never know as they would've had to be on the same stage
at the same time.

Shawn was consistently in better condition than phil

Pictures don't always give a true perspective
Some look amazing in photos and not so good in real life
and the opposite is also true.

To shawns credit he was more consistent with conditioning, better poser, more pleasing physique, and didnt have a bubble gut lol
