Which do you prefer to include for back day and why?
Dumbbell rows combined with t-bar rows. Barbell rows are to stressfull on my lower back. I never liked that hunched over feeling. You can control it better with t-bar rows.

dumbell rows = ego shit, does nothing special for your back

barbel rows = great movement , got to be in every backworkout
totally disagree, db rows are an awesome rowing movement, you get a way better stretch and a way better contraction with those than with bb rows.

disagree completely with the remark about db rows being useless.. hell, even emg studies show the db row is a great movement..

Stupid questions all the time if this or that exercise is better than the other. Just mix it up, be more flexible my friend. One week Db, the next week Bb.....one week undergrip, the next week overgrip. Monotony is the killer of progress.

I agree. I like to put my non working arm on the db rack instead of a bench.

barbell rows tend to work all the muscle groups of the back more so that bumbell rows. Look at all the supersized bodybuilders with great backs, and you'll see that most of them put strong emphasis on barbell rowing.

its almost impossible for a natural or even a juicer for that matter to recover lower back wise from heavy squats, heavy deadlifts AND heavy barbell rows in the same week so barbell rows are overkill if you're doing deadlifts.

I squat and dead on the same day. I never understood why people say that squatting tires the lower back. personally i have never felt this.

You're right. I don't reguarly do barbell deadlifts. I do like the stiff legged deadlift on leg day though

I wouldn't recommend doing all in the same week. Would murder your back.

Just my opinion

what i'm saying is that the cumulative effect of heavy squats, deads and bb rows is just too much for most people, so by process of elimination the least important of those 3 has to go, i've tried squatting and pulling on the same day and every time one of them suffers poundage wise.

exactly, and if i wasn't deadlifting i would ABSOLUTELY say to do barbell rows, they're an EXCELLENT movement.

that's cool, maybe you recover from your workouts quicker or more completely than me or others, everyone's different.
