yes ,it is a movie theme,twilight was a show,the actress in that episode resembled janet leigh.

It wasn't The Birds.  It was a recent movie called The Girl which was about Hitch's obsession with Tippy Hedren.  Some of the movie depicted what he did to her during the filming of The Birds.

 She is. I saw the Birds for the first time ever less than a month ago. I always heard the name Tippy Hedren but don't recall ever seeing anything she was in...and according to imdb she has worked consistently and is still working.  She's flown almost totally under my radar for some reason, i didnt even know she was Melanie Griffiths mother. It's weird, Raquel Welch, Jacquline Bisset, Jenny Agutter, Claudia Cardinale, and a ton of other actresses are faces I've seen time and time again but I wouldn't have even been able to tell you what Tippy Hedren looked like until I saw The Birds last month.
