I think many of us knew what the outcome of the Rousey vs. Nunez fight would be. As some have already stated, Rousey was the victim of a speeding out of control hype train. The definition of a one trick pony. Once the the "unbeatable" moniker was shattered (like her jaw) by Holly Holmes, it was the end of the road. Ronda's story is best described as a watered-down Tyson saga. While Tyson was far more impressive, in the end, when Tyson lost to Buster, and his mentor died, he went full pigeon.
The Cruz vs. Garbrandt fight was a tale of two completely different styles. Cruz had been the Floyd Mayweather of the bantamweight division. Dominick would mostly dance around the ring, and simply out perform, and outpoint his competition. His one big flaw: He carries a set of soft, comfortable, pillow fists. Cody exposed that last night. Garbrandt matched Cruz with speed and agility, but he also carried the power advantage.
I will give Cruz credit. That guy was a warrior, and went out like a true champ. You probably would have had to kill that guy for him to stay down.
I would love to see a rematch, to see if Dominick would be able to adjust/adapt.
