Never stained a deck before obviously.  The deck was newly built so you can't apply stain to it until it ages a little bit ..otherwise it will come off.

I test it every week.   It only started holding onto the stain.   Staining brand new wood is a dumb idea.  It needs to expand and get used to the elements...especially here in the South

Friends have building a summer/winter cabin in the Lake Tahoe area.

Theey have been running into similar situations somewhat like Vince but on a much more expensive level.

Thei main problem is 'making good decisions'. Money is not a problem. (Far from it.)

This summer/winter retreat has or will have  state of the art security, heated floosr, heated driveway, computer controlled lighting, etc.

They can control the lovk on the front door, the garage doors, and all the lights within the house with a  simple app on their cell phone which could be thousands of miles from the lake.

Now it's time to furnish the place. It's a log cabin design so they are outfitting it with expensive log-type furnature which sure ain't cheap.

They are open to suggestions regarding each of the four bedroom mattresses. (Not the old fashion type.)

I suggested THE PURPLE simply because I like their ad and have heard from reliable sources that the Purple is comfortable and does not cause overnight sweating as most other foam-type mattresses seem to do.

Any suggestions regarding the best mattress on the market today would be appreciated-.

I have one but not monitored....window and door alarms along with motion sensors.   Only thing I have to worry about however are deer running out in the road along with other animals.   Its a very quiet subdivision

The Tempurpedic combined with a chilipad cooling and heating system has been the best sleeping experience I've had. I stayed at a high end hotel with a top of the line Sleep number bed (I had one years ago and hated it) and was pleasantly surprised with the comfort.

Is a Lexus only $30,000? Who knew? I thought they ran between about $38,000 and $85,000. I like my car and it costs about $30,000 give or take some small change. Not unlike Mel, I tend to look for economy. Sometimes this comes via a purchases longevity. I expect to drive my car for at least 10 more years. This could mean it will be my last car....fuck, I should have gone for the Mercedes GLA 250 4Matic SUV. Loaded, it runs just under $55,000. That's a lot more than my car and mine has similar features as the Mercedes, plus the interior is sportier and ascetically pleasing. And, the cost of insurance and maintenance is less.
