The pencil neck is getting totally smocked in this shot. Yes Flex had more shape and definition to his back but at the end of the day Nasser was a SHW while Flex was in the middle weight category, looking like a child next to Nasser. His only really big body part was his SEOed biceps.
ALSO! Flex clavicles were very short, even shorter than Phils, but since his head was the size of a peanut it gave the illusion he was wide when posing alonge. But then this smoke and mirros end when you put him side by side with any legit heavy weight. Thats why Flex never won a Olympia and never would even if he competed for a thousand years.

I strongly disagree with u....Flex's shape, and structure is more than enought to beat Nasser....even 60lbs lighter....LOOK closer my friend

He was already in the hospital back in 96-97, for kidney issues, and was sick as a dog at the Ironman and AC in 93..
The Mr. O is more about Freakiness---plus Dex only won when jay was off, Dex couldn't hang with Ronnie, nor could Nasser,
and Flex had more 2nd place finishes than Nasser and won more contests...
It's good that Flex never won. If he did win in 98, he may have died the next yr, trying to amp up the freak factor...

The reason Flex was always sick is the same reason Lucke Wood, Tom Prince etc. were sick too. They all had big genectis flaws and tried to compensate it with collossal ammount of drugs.

its funny because people are very quick to say nasser never won an olympia "obviously because of his subpar back etc." and when it comes to Flex he never won a single sandow because "he was too lazy, bad luck, blabla" totally overlooking the real reason which was his frame structure of a 13 year old boy. Talk about double standards. Flex had his qualities of course but he also had some MAJOR flaws, thats why he was injecting oil everywhere and frying his kidneys off with so much gear.

Groink, being one of the bigger guys I'm surprised you are siding with the smaller "aesthetic" physique....would you also then say that the 180'ish lb aesthetic getbiggers have a better physique than you?
Flex had great structure/taper in poses like the front relaxed but in any pose where he raised his arms (front double biceps, front lat spread) he didn't have much of a taper because while he had a small waist you also need shoulder/lat width which he didn't show in those poses. More of a T-taper than V in those shots.

Um both. Juice just amplifies what you already have. Groink's shoulders were big before and are prob huge now. I'd imagine he has a pretty sick taper right now (no homo). As far as Flex, he looked pretty soft to me in those old vids. I remember back in the day thinking he kicked ass. Guess the difference between pictures and video. Nasser is SO soft from the back though. Amazing he is MR. O from the front but when he turned around it's just horrible

Flex didn't win the Olympia because of a multitude of reasons , timing was one of them , if not for the car accident and if he was 100% on in 1994 he could have beaten Dorian , perhaps the same in 1997 , Flex was doing all the spring shows in 93 so his body was screaming for a rest by the time the Olympia rolled around.
Nasser in some shots owned Flex , but when all is said and done , Flex outclassed him.

yes it is about size as well. If it wasnt for Flex looking like a swimmer in certain poses he probably would have won a sandow or two. Talk about a major structure flaw. Pencil neck was lucky to have a small head so in comparison his shoulder didnt look that narrow when he was alone on the stage.

And yes before ND says it the judges awarded Flex at that show - no one's denying that.

Personally I prefer Nasser's look, so does bam bam and some others. Then others like ND, groink etc prefer Wheeler's look. We can debate for pages and pages and personal preferences won't change.
And yes before ND says it the judges awarded Flex at that show - no one's denying that.
Not how it works Bobs , it's a matter of who looks better in all of the mandatory poses according to the judging criteria when directly compared to one another , this isn't a matter a personal preference it's a matter of who looked better at that particular time on that particular stage , and in this contest Nasser beats Flex on some poses , in the ab-thigh according to the criteria Nasser is blowing Flex off the stage , then as we move onto the rest of all of the mandatories Nasser falls by the wayside and Flex wins

Waist size and lines are of utmost importance, but you must have the muscle to go with them...Flex carried plenty of muscle. Not as much as Nasser, very few did....but he was just put together better. by a LOT.
As I have explained before...Nasser was a guy with so-so structure who took his body to the absolute limit size-wise. good enough to beat a lot of guys...but when he runs up against a Wheeler or a Levrone...The very TOP guys....his shortcomings are exposed
And what's with the Zyzz comment? you're the guy comparing himself to Zyzz, and he looks (looked) better than you.

The pencil neck is getting totally smocked in this shot. Yes Flex had more shape and definition to his back but at the end of the day Nasser was a SHW while Flex was in the middle weight category, looking like a child next to Nasser. His only really big body part was his SEOed biceps.
ALSO! Flex clavicles were very short, even shorter than Phils, but since his head was the size of a peanut it gave the illusion he was wide when posing alonge. But then this smoke and mirros end when you put him side by side with any legit heavy weight. Thats why Flex never won a Olympia and never would even if he competed for a thousand years.

Flex and Shawn back in the day had a love/hate relationship, like squabbling brothers.
Back in 93, Shawn said Flex had calf implants as his calves "didn't look right"...
Flex joked about it in Hardbody, when he scraped a calf on a hyper-extension bench. He said "the insertion point is bleeding", and mentions his calf implants, then he flex's his calves.
Shawn had trained Flex for the 97 Arnold, and Flex wanted to train again for the O, Shawn had said no...Thus Flex was mad, and said in the mags, "Shawn doesn't want to train with me as he views me as the enemy." Shawn had said that why would train someone who could potentially take money from him (prize money)...as I said love/hate relationship.
Shawn used to post rather frequently on Getbig, and had said that he had made up the story to get in
Flex's head, which was Flex's weakness...using a Sonny Linston idiom.
I said that if Flex used a shitload of Esiclene (sp?) in his delts, chances are he would have put that in his calves (using the infamous Black and White unitard pic with Lenda Murray and Demayo as a reference )

but seriously what you are saying about me aging in a bad way is not true because when i reached the same BW in my early and mid 20s i looked exactly the same.. my frame is not wide and i look good only when i am around 75 kg (166 pounds).. i am now 82.5 kg (182 pounds) and if you remember last year i looked very goods when i was lighter so it's not logical to say i was aging well when i was 31 and then all of a sudden i have become old a year later

I noticed that bro, especially in your front bicep pose there's always separation even at your heavier bodyweights. Personally I I tend to lose fat/water around my torso and back more so than my limbs, so I'm hoping to get the arms/delts/legs shredded by next month.

lol, well whatever the difference is (as you perceive it to be), I don't think you can argue that it's "embarassing" to compare myself to him. That's a term that's only use when two physiques are night and day apart which is not the case here at all.

you carry more muscle than Zyzz imo Bobs, shoulders are thicker and better arms especially triceps. I think he looks a little "better" in some shots, but that's subjective and part illusion. I think to most people zyzz would look better than Nasser judging by the way some of these guys rave about frank zane and steve reeves on here yet bash 260lb shredded monsters on a daily basis ::) oh brother.

Really can not Compare these 2 guys Totally Different Structures and Aesthetics...@ the end of the day comes down to BB preference in a Ideal, Nasser was One of the best of his Eras in a time and place where BBing was @ its most Competitive @ the Highest level though-out the 1990s its that simple, Flex obviously had the Lines, Aesthetics, Muscles bellys, Presentation of the Physique etc etc and of course the Results on his side, comes down to Personal preference nothing more.

i swear to ALLAH brother i never saw these things in my life... i know a lot of ppl who are on roids including some of my friends but i never even cared to ask them how they are used and how mush they get them!!.. but i dont think "good roids" are cheap in egypt becaue i recently heard that a guy in our gym took a cycle that costed about USD 700!!..
