Pittsburg has now OFFICIALLY had the WORST defense of a Superbowl title at 2-6. Used to be the 9ers at 3-5, and that was during a strike year with scab players!
Pitt started to look good, but man you can count on them to have at LEAST 3 turnovers a game. Not to mention the defense has now given up 3 TD's twice to 1 player on opposing teams (Crumpler, and now Walker). Maybe I predicted to low at 9-7, it could be 6-10 at this pace. How the mighty have fallen. I guarantee Cowher will step down if they have a losing season! At least I got some good points on Reeds kicks although he missed one earlier.

This is just an easy way out for you because if I say no, then you won't bet. Why not just call it at $50.00 each? We both risk the same odds because although the schedule is a little harder for the Steelers, you claim they are a better team than the 9ers anyway.

The Ravens thrashed the Steelers 16-0 in the season opener at Three Rivers Stadium that year. Remember?
One of 4 shut outs their defense had that year.
I'll admit. That was one crazy year. 5 straight games without scoring an offensive touchdown and they won three of those games. Crazy! :o :o :o
And they ended up winning the Super Bowl. Out of control!!
Earl, you can say all you want about bandwagon this and bandwagon that. But the truth is that I was ecstatic about B-more getting a football team again in 1996. It was awesome to have a football team you could be proud of. And to win it all after just five seasons in existence?

$50.00 to me and OzmO is nothing. When I go back and play Poker with him and the boys, the BUY IN is at least $200.00. By the end of the night, it's not uncommon for the pot to be at $4,000 or more.

We IMPROVED our our defense, and got at least a better receiver in Lelie than Bryant.
The Steelers are reeling over a poor year and now a new head coaching staff. In all aspects it's very rare to see success from a new coaching staff their 1st year.

Starks and Simmons made me cringe all last year. I hope they give Kemo a shot, he is nasty, but needs to get his footwork down in pass protection schemes. I don't know if Simmons is a viable center, having Marvel and Faneca healthy will be a big plus, not to mention resigning Najeh as a third down back. He is much better at chipping than Fast Willie. With the blitzes we saw last year, keeping Ben standing up becomes a priority.

I think you're being too harsh. He played with Jake Plummer. That accounts for a lot. I watched a clip of all of his catches in 05 and he could have had about 10 TDs if Plummer hit him stride. Also, he started opposite Rod Smith, so he wasn't the WR3 in Denver after his rookie year.
Lelie led the NFL in yards per catch for 2 years in a row. He also set several Bronco receiving records. He does not have a problem with work ethic. And he doesn't have a poor attitude. He was never a locker room problem at UH and was fine in Denver till his holdout.
I completely disagree with the way he handled his situation in Denver. He should have kept his mouth shut, gone to camp, played out his last year, and become a FA. He made a huge mistake IMO.
I think he's a great addition to the Niners. Alex Smith has a better arm than Plummer and is much more accurate than Vick. Lelie will be surrounded by DJax, Vernon Davis, and a great RB in Gore. I think he'll have a very good year. And the thing about him is if you hit him in stride, it's a TD from anywhere on the field.
