Election Deniers
« on: September 08, 2022, 03:49:04 PM »
Going to see how many Democrats I can find who claim Trump, Bush, and/or Kemp (and others) were not legitimately elected.

Former President Jimmy Carter:

Jimmy Carter says a full investigation would show Trump lost in 2016
Jimmy Carter: 'Trump didn’t actually win the election in 2016'
By SARAH CAMMARATA
06/28/2019

Former President Jimmy Carter questioned the legitimacy of Donald Trump’s presidency on Thursday, saying he would likely not be in the White House if the Russians did not interfere in the 2016 presidential election.

“I think a full investigation would show that Trump didn’t actually win the election in 2016. He lost the election, and he was put into office because the Russians interfered on his behalf,” the former president, who served between 1977 and 1981, said at a panel hosted by the Carter Center in Leesburg, Va.

Pressed by moderator and historian Jon Meacham on whether he believes Trump is an “illegitimate president,” Carter stared, and then said smiling, “Basically, what I said, I can’t retract.” Carter’s remark drew laughs from the audience and Meacham.

The late Representative John Lewis.

Rep. John Lewis: 'I Don't See Trump as a Legitimate President'

Lewis, a Democrat representing Georgia and a civil rights leader, said 'I think the Russians participated in helping this man get elected.'
Jan. 13, 2017
By Chuck Todd, Sally Bronston and Matt Rivera

In an exclusive interview with NBC News' "Meet the Press," Rep. John Lewis, D-Ga., said he does not believe Donald Trump is a "legitimate president," citing Russian interference in last year’s election.

Asked whether he would try to forge a relationship with the president-elect, Lewis said that he believes in forgiveness, but added, "it's going to be very difficult. I don't see this president-elect as a legitimate president."

When pressed to explain why, he cited allegations of Russian hacks during the campaign that led to the release of internal documents from the Democratic National Committee and Hillary Clinton’s campaign co-chairman, John Podesta.

“I think the Russians participated in helping this man get elected. And they helped destroy the candidacy of Hillary Clinton,” Lewis told NBC News.

Hillary Clinton.

From the Washington Post, in 2019:

Hillary Clinton dismissed President Trump as an “illegitimate president” and suggested that “he knows” that he stole the 2016 presidential election in a CBS News interview to be aired Sunday.

And:

“No, it doesn’t kill me because he knows he’s an illegitimate president,” she said. “I believe he understands that the many varying tactics they used, from voter suppression and voter purging to hacking to the false stories — he knows that — there were just a bunch of different reasons why the election turned out like it did.”

And:

Clinton compared her election loss to “applying for a job and getting 66 million letters of recommendation and losing to a corrupt human tornado. And so I know that he knows that this wasn’t on the level. I don’t know that we’ll ever know what happened.”

Former Senator Barbara Boxer, dozens of Democrat House Members, Representative Maxine Waters, Al Gore, Terry McAuliffe, and Jonathan Chait of New York magazine:

The previous time the Republicans won, George W. Bush in 2004, Sen. Barbara Boxer and dozens of House members objected to Ohio’s electoral votes going for Bush, even though he won the state by more than 100,000 votes.

Rep. Maxine Waters, a California Democrat, promoted a conspiracy theory whereby enough votes were switched from Kerry to Bush by voting machines and enough voters were wrongly purged from voter rolls that it “could have been” determinative of the result in Ohio and, thus, the whole presidential election.

And the time before that? Well, famously, Al Gore sued in Florida and in the Supreme Court to overturn George W. Bush’s insanely narrow victory in that state. Democratic congressmen, even after the lawsuits ended, called the result a “coup d’etat.” They also challenged the electoral votes.

Why do I bring up the distant past? Because Democrats continue to peddle the line, which would be called “dangerous” if a Republican made the same argument, that Bush “stole” the 2000 election.

Watch this video of Terry McAuliffe in 2004 , claiming Republicans stole the 2000 election. McAuliffe, who has never recanted that false claim, is now the Democratic nominee for the governor of Virginia and has the backing of the entire Democratic establishment.

That’s because the Democratic and liberal establishment say the same thing as McAuliffe:

20 years later, McAuliffe will not retract his claim that the 2000 election was stolen. Whereas Youngkin said onstage this week that Biden won. https://t.co/NLPyuium6h

— Dan McLaughlin (@baseballcrank) October 1, 2021
And here’s Jonathan Chait at New York magazine last month, saying Bush never won the election fairly.

Only if they are Republicans.

Some Republicans deny the Biden won the 2020 election. And some Democrats deny the Trump won the 2016 election. So, my question is are all of them extremist?

In 2016 Clinton won the majority popular vote but lost election due to the electoral vote. Hillary gracefully conceded.

2020 Biden got the higher popular vote count and the most electoral vote. Trump refused to concede until he had no other choice, and then he did it with reservations. There was no peaceful transition or transfer of power, thanks to Trump being a sore loser who refused to do it.

He took all the 'marbles' (which didn't belong to him) and went home to Mar-a-lago.
