Someone can accuse me of favoritism, but the proof's in the picture: you have really good arms.
As far as 240 goes...
The truth is, I do kind of like 240. He is clearly above-average intelligence, and I've seen his little picture-stories about Chad Mower and company. Those show he's clever enough and has a keen sense of humor.
Still, he's told a few too many tall tales for me to take his claims seriously. Some of those claims predate my registration at Getbig, but I've repeatedly heard of 400 lb. squats for 20 reps, "meltdowns" that involved some pretty scary stuff, and I've definitely been privy to the illogical 9-11-2001 conspiracy theories.
I don't mean to be hard on Rob/240, but I'm weary of someone crying wolf so often. If nothing else, let's break down those conspiracies with some verifiable facts, here on good old Getbig. Don't redirect me to a video elsewhere; don't show me a tome of text that may or may not make the case for glowing-hot steel however many hours after a 100,000 ton building collapsed.
Simply put, that's not debating. Pointing to another, tediously voluminous source ("Watch this 20 minute/30 minute/1 hour video!") is no way to argue a point.
That's intellectual laziness. If A makes X claim, A should be able to support X claim in relatively concise form (or, at least, be able to point me to the exact seconds of the video in which whatever claims are made, which is still sheepish).
I realize debate standards on Getbig are very lax, usually reduced to racial and sexual slurs :), but still.

I trained arms like 6 hours ago and just measured em right now so they might be a bit bigger than usual today. They taped out at 18"... here's a pic from last week... i think 18 inch arms at 19 years old is pretty decent.
I'm 20 and I believe that anything above 15 is quite an achievement in this age range, especially when you compare it with peers.

My best lifts are all over... but I'm particularly strong on shoulders movements; 225 on upright row any day of the week; lateral raises with 65 for sets is my range.

I gave up arging 911 a long time ago. My arms are 16.5 right now. I'm also flirting with getting a little chubby and nearing 200 and not looking very cut. So they'll be back to 15 when I get abs back and lose water bloat. Let a guy enjoy being over 16 for 5 minutes before I have to go back to being scrawny lol...

i think if a person weighs a chubby 285 or so 18 or even 19 inch arms arent all that spectaculer,its when that person gets down to around 10% the true measuerment of muscle will be accurate,i see chubby guys in the gym with 18 inch pipes all the time but you cant even see the main bicep vein or for that matter you cant see any veins.even arnold only had alittle over 19 inches and sergio was alittle bigger like almost but not quite 20,and i doubt your gonna find to many arms on this board that look as good as those 2 champions.i was never one to get caught up in the tape measure thing,when i was 12 or 13 years old i used to but thats about it,my mirror is my tape measure cause when its all said and done its all about who looks the biggest and best and not who really is the biggest,most of times a lighter harder bodybuilder will appear larger then a much heavier smoother bodybuilder even though the scale and tapemeasure say different

Hard to read post but somewhat accurate. If I was 285 with 19" arms, I would defat myself with a whale knife.
I would use the fat to burn stuff and make biodiesel.

thanks bro,i try to keep it real and give credit where its due,even if i dont agree with someones point of veiw i still stay respectful.i remember i used to live with the tapemeasure when i was younger,id pump up my arms then run to the drawer and get the tape and tell my mom to measure my arms,when your starting out in lifting in seems like gains come every other week,lol.the more advanced we get its a bitch to get any decent gains if your not on some test and deca ect

ive remember bill grant telling me he measured arnolds arm cold back in 74 and thats what they measured,arnold with a pump would reach alittle over 20 he said,sergio got measued by aurther jones and his cold arm was reported at close to 20.alot of others on here have heard that also,can someone co sign for me here :(

i've met alot of the pros who are known for having huge arms. most have tiny joints and bones, including craniums. this helps. a 20 inch arm on a 6.5 inch wrist looks way bigger than on a 8 inch wrist.

The most important thing when it comes to arms is "genetic shape"
Some guys can have 20 inch guns, but the poor muscle bellies make the arm just not very impressive.
Another guy can have an 18 inch arm, with crazy full bellied biceps and sick tricep shape, and it looks more impressive than just a "big" arm

I could straightbar curl 60kg though for a few reps good form. Then again all of them are done in the 70-75kg range.. I doubt average 240 pound gbers could dl 500+

I have never really been able to benchpress besides a few weeks in total out of all the years in the gym due to left shoulder.. only hurts during bench though, and even close grip bench for triceps often times feels fine. Dont know why, I dont think something special happened, nothing that I can remember anyway

Hey all of us know its not easy. We love weightlifting, bodybuilding, martial arts. But we also love women. We get "caught" lol, by Miss Right and that's all she wrote. We take a vow before God, which some of us take very seriously. The children start coming and now our life is no longer our own. The kids need to fed, clothed, nurtured, brought up right. I think we've all seen the results when the "man of the house" wimps out and leaves the family. Not pretty. A dad can't be a dad from another address. So we have to make sacrifices. We give up our nights out with the boys. We come home after work, and we're in for the night. A responsible dad doesn't run off to the gym. No way. He supervises the kids homework, listens to problems, helps wifey clean the kitchen. He's lucky to get twenty minutes of pumping iron on the weight bench in the basement. Steroids? Forget about it. What kind of example for the children is that setting? Imagine the squad car pulling into the driveway to arrest Daddy? Unthinkable.

Well I swore up and down that I wouldn't compete again in 09, but everything in my life is out of the way now. 2 kids are older and my own bussiness (roofing) is OK so maybe I will try again now, makes more sense now, if I do will do a show in Nov. I decided to get lean for summer but can easily be ready for any show within 60 days.

You must stay fairly lean if only needing 8 weeks diet, you should go for it man!

ummm,, no you cant,, you never get back to what you were if you stopped ,,no matter what! ask stavio he will let you know about it a little...he thought he could and he is a kid 25 or 24...and he can get to what he was in this age but he also saw that weight does not = muscle!,,
inorder to get to what you once was after a break you will have to put double the time and prey you are under 40...ofcourse gh a must for anyone over 32 to even look competetive in today modern bodybuild,,can be on and off gh but gh a must
all this muscle memory balonie...trust me ...take picture of you after coming back from big break after few months in gymnasium and compare it with your best ...you will want to throw the camera agsint the wall and break that damn thing for ...its ALWYS just 2 extra lb from what you once were...always this litle fix and you be the same ...you are alwys 6.5% .5% from the 6% you once was...scale say even little higher numbers...but guess what ...in that picture in your best ...you look like squary jap animation and now...you are 2 lb from it ! lol 2 lb of LEAN MUSCLE that you cant seem to understand how to get...or 2 lb of fat that you cant seem to understand how to get rid off...its always the case with fellas who take big breaks or play around with their weights too much

hi gh, there are two numbers on there for me, the 18" was my forearm

fella like roley foro example...is done ,, he is absolitly done ,, why? he went in 5'6 and climbed to 300lb or so ...he is done with ifbb high placings as in top 6 ,, he will never be able to duplicate his best condition ,, he is too much in the rubber doll stage,, yes he can be low bodyfat...yes he can be somewhat hard or give the illusion of being harder than he is due to veins due to specific compound mix and the insulina and hgh that pusheds the veins out...especialy abuse of insulina and gh ...but! he cant duplicate his best condition ..no matter how much he wants...that swhat extra weight will do to you ...very very few are like ron colman ,, very very few you can count them on 1 hand and evebn on that one hand they wont be 5...

thats not what im saying!,, i didnt say you cant compete!,, i said you wont be able to duplicate your best condition and if you can it will be VERY VERY HARD and realy you will have to go the hormone route to the extreme and pretty much doubel the time everything takes past age 35...
its very easy to get to best condition 4-6% bodyfat after 35...very very hard ,, but even when you do get there...to duplicate yoru best condition ever will be hard most likley imposible due to many reasons one of them is your lay off from bodybuild the other one is AGE...yes the body will not look the same when 6% bodyfat when you are 28 and 38 and 48 ..wont look the same friends,,
you can bring the best condition you can always ...if you never take off from bodybuild but this is HORRIBLE life HORRIBLE LIFE..ask darem charles ...its not easy to be always on none stop and alwyas be on the harsh compounds ,, its not easy but! it delivers...still! the older you get the harder it is for you to come back to your best condition ESPECIALY if layed off bodybuild

Yeah, I have NO intention of ever measuring them again. Ever since I lost a bunch of fat my arms have looked way bigger, but somewhere in the back of my mind I know they are getting smaller. Mind games.

Sitting ~190, no hormones (ever). I tell ppl i'm 5'10, but it's really closer to 5.9 and a half .lol. Low bodyfat (6 pack). Haven't done a solid leg workout in about 10 months b/c of left knee issues. Deep deadlifts,spin bike intervals, romanian deads and calf raises are it for lower body. Currently consuming about .5-.75 gr.protein/ lb. of body weight. 40-60% of diet is fruits/veggies, 10-20 fat/protein - Mostly from nuts, fish, seeds, berries. Most of my fruit/veg intake is organic spinach, cantaloupe and pineapple. 36yrs old. No wrinkles, I like to bang my woman 5-6 times a week and whack off another 2-4. Oh, and do whatever you can to keep (mental) stress levels to a minimum as that has been the make or break for me. When mental stress gets out of control for more than 3 or 4 days, i can feel myself getting sick (sneezing, tired, colesores, etc) and worn down. The importance of this is magnified as you age.

I've never seen so many guys here over 20 though(I think you are legit, so ignore my next comments :D). Some of these guys have to be at least 20% bf to get these arms or very tall.
I suck anyways, I am a manlet(5' 8), and have poor shape but even my arms are bigger than most peoples I come in contact with in the fitness world.

the more brutal hard look comes at lower fatlevels.
he has slight bit fat, but thats the level youll have to have to train effectively year round.
any lower than 6%, ppl are always tired and workouts arent as good.
may be but when i am 12% bf my bis are mush more detailed.. i had a friend with a very good physique who while competing had every part detailed with good 6 pack abs but his bis were never detailed..

as you go older your metabolism is slower.. must decrease your calories and do a lot of cardio to stay fit..
when i was in my early 20s it was very easy to lose fats with a good diet in a very short time and without any cardio.. now it's not the same,.. i must do more effort and after another 10 years i think i will have to double the effort to stay in a good shape..
this is why we always respect guy in their 40s and 50s who still look good..

Yes, in fact I take it while I diet but not for water loss, but to suppress my hunger cause I go crazy on no carbs, but while taking it when you wake up in the morning you are bone dry, in fact your morning piss is 3 min long.
If you take it and do not drink water you can easily lose 5-7lb in one day but it is not ideal for the day before the show, although it would work as a diuretic, you will not be able to carb load cause it will suppress hunger to much and we all know you need 1000 grams of carbs at least the Friday before the show, it would be to hard using this. At the moment I'm 15.75" and bulking, in June after a month of getting back on trt + cycle I was at 16.5" but injury/fasting lost it. Last year biggest I was 17". Not that impressive to most but hey, goal is 18"-18.5" some day :) I am 6'2 with long limbs so not as easy to get as thick as a 5'7 guy. Almost at the bottom of the list but oh well :)

6'2 is height munch-kin. 16" arms on a short guy are alot easier to achieve and appear bigger than 16" arms on a 6'2 guy, but the weight a 6'2 guy carries and achieving thickness is alot harder than some shorter 5'7 guy. None the less I prefer being taller than shorter :) Ultimately a taller guy looks better than a shorter tank imo.

A 6'2 growing thick arms is alot more different than a 5'7< dwarf that most bodybuilders are. My arms and legs are longer therefore whatever mass I carry is always stretched out.

I am just back on for 6 months, and again naturally not going to happen without trt i dont produce enough test. Training 6 months is nothing. My body went to shit when I got off trt instantly. 10 months off and I was utter shit.

You can laugh it up, but low test can fuck you up, living one year with low test turned my body to shit, getting on was a huge change, getting off for 10 months was again back to shit, just being back on now since may, changes are occuring but take time.

I had 17" arms before having these problems and ever touching juice. Have you had abnormally low testosterone for over a year without ever touching juice and having to stay away from trt treatment? I don't think you'd be laughing.
My arms became 14.5" in those 10 months being off trt and fat (so ultimately even smaller) pretty pathetic indeed. Low test is no joke, aside from negative physical changes it also affects your libido, mood, overall sense of well being, etc... For a year straight I have never felt as weak, horrible, down, etc... ever in my life. Going from youthful and athletic to mysteriously fucked up until discovering the problem with doctors is no joke and it happened to me while still young. I am not even 30 yet, sucks.

Yes, in fact I take it while I diet but not for water loss, but to suppress my hunger cause I go crazy on no carbs, but while taking it when you wake up in the morning you are bone dry, in fact your morning piss is 3 min long.
If you take it and do not drink water you can easily lose 5-7lb in one day but it is not ideal for the day before the show, although it would work as a diuretic, you will not be able to carb load cause it will suppress hunger to much and we all know you need 1000 grams of carbs at least the Friday before the show, it would be to hard using this. Interesting stuff bro, I tried it before for a few days and it did dry me out but i always thought that it wasn't really comparable to legit script diuretics based on what people said, probably a lot safer though.
