Americans lack of appreciation for hockey is just sad. I use to be meek and pretend it wasn't the greatest game on earth.
The reason hockey it isn't more popular is because it is too fast, too expensive and requires an insane amount of skill.
Compare that to any other sport where the flaws are with game mechanics. Basketball is just height/fast twitch muscle fiber. Football/Baseball/Soccer have are just too slow. Hockey always has something going on even in some of the most meaningless games.
