Another idiotic article.I love it when liberals say "Republicans need to be more liberal".Really?Well we just ran THE MOST liberal Republican there is HE GOT CRUSHED!!!!Specter IS NOT and HAS NEVER been a republican. He is a liberal.Funny, whenever democrats want to take a senate seat they run THE MOST CONSERVATIVE guys they can find.Liberalism only wins in California and the Northeast[and even there in most places they pretend to be mainstream],everywhere else they need to be conservative.

libs want obnoxious, unpredictable moderates to run.

Look at how flaky mccain looked.  calling off his campaign, going on couric WITh palin to defend her statements.  If nothing else, obama was consistent.

I think the point that they are making is that on Social issues, Republicans need to be more liberal... and then on economic issues, they need to be more conservative.

McCain got crushed because he was no different than Obama really, but he pretended to be.

McCain should have come out with financially conservative views and liberal social policies and not picked a right-wing neo-con VP.

The Neo-Cons have done no good for the party of Goldwater.

I disagree.Bush was MUCH more liberal on economics then most Conservatives but he was very far right in his social views. He was elected twice.Whenever an issue goes to the ballot, the conservatives win.I agree that Republicans need to stop thinking abortion is the end all be all. However, dont tell me if we would have had a good conservative running,he couldnt have brought up Bill Ayers,Rev. Wright,Obamas radical views on EVERY social issue there is,FAR to the lleft of even most liberals AND his socialist views.McCain couldnt because he believed in just about everything Obama did.
