They must have figured out he wasn't going to pay them.   :D

All five of the impeachment lawyers who were expected to represent former President Donald Trump have called it quits.  The team, led by South Carolina lawyer Butch Bowers, resigned in part because of disagreements over how to mount Trump’s defense. The lawyers had planned to argue the constitutionality of holding a trial given Trump is now a former president. 
The disagreements over strategy varied, but Trump wanted his team to argue there was election fraud.

Maybe you should read your own article quote. And once again like in the last fake impeachment trial, he'll be acquitted. They don't have the votes anyway..lol

turns out they weren't interested in promoting his idiotic lies about election fraud

I suspect they also wanted to get paid (perhaps upfront) given that Trump is a well known deadbeat

The article had nothing to do with the impeachment itself, nor any votes dumb ass.  It was referring to the fact he has no defense attorneys willing to represent him.

David Schoen and Bruce L. Castor will head up Trump’s new legal team. David Schoen represented Roger Stone in 2019. He also met with sex offender Jeffrey Epstein before his NY trial on charges relating to sexual exploitation. Bruce Castor has been slammed by advocates for victims of sexual abuse because of stance against reforms meant to help past victims of Catholic priests and in the case of university football coach and predator Jerry Sandusky. Bruce also declined to prosecute Bill Cosby. He was sued for defamation by Cosby victim Andrea Constand. The case was settled.

Some believe the resignation of Trump’s previous lawyers is irrelevant, because Senate Republicans are planning to acquit Trump.

I think they will hang in there. If they take Trump's direction, which is to argue that the election was stolen from him, he won't fire them. What is unclear to me is how that argument will fly as a defense for this impeachment. The other attorneys were at odds with Trump on this. They felt they could win on the question of the constitutionality of impeaching a non sitting president. That it is unconstitutional is aligned with what a minority of republican senators already believe.

1. It's a LIE
2. It's not a Defense for Sedition
3. It's a LIE - apparently this can't be repeated enough because some truly stupid people still believe it

The entry and quick exit of the previous five, followed by the entry of two new contestants remind me of the horror/comedy movie FEAST.   If you’ve seen the movie you will know what I mean.
