No.  He simply had an off show, for him.  All Mr. O's of recent memory have had shows where they were not at their best.  Typically, Phil comes in with very crisp conditioning.  Any deviation is more notable for him, especially as champ.   People get bored of champions that win year after year, almost hoping for a champions decline.

Yeah there appears to be some growing outward from the obliques and abs.

Could have just been an off showing tho.

Midsection appeared to be showing signs.

He was smooth as silk too.  Someone actually posted a side by side with a prime Palumbo and it was scary how close they resembled each other.  It's only a matter of time now.

Without a doubt. He's showing all the signs already so I think he has maxed out his potential and it will all be backwards from here.

I don't think Phil has palumboism, just a bad outing. In 2011 he looked incredible. 2012 he looked like crap, barely any ab separation and holding a bit of water. 2013 he looked good again, not as good as good as 2011, but good. And, of course, 2014 he looked even worse than 2012. I think he's just getting comfortable being the champ and isn't dieting (amongst other things) as hard as he did the first time he won, when he was hungry for the title.
I bet if he does next year what he did in 2011 he'd be his all-time best, unfortunately it seems the judges will reward him no matter what he looks like, and hence I don't expect him to come back looking anything close to his all-time best.

Phil's been a pro for TEN YEARS now.  Well, 9 and a half.    He's been on Jay's super secret stack for a lot of that time - remember he crashed with Jay for a bit, learned the ropes, and voila, became a top pro overnight.

And he didn't have 15 years of natural "base" bodybuilding training, like you see with a kai or a ronnie.   They took their natural ceiling to the max, THEN got on the pro stack.  Phil went from 1st show to winning pro card in what, 18 months?

So yeah, at some point, his arms, shoulders, calves will peak, and his midsection will begin to expand.  it's not a knock on phil, it's just science.

He just has more buffer material on his arms before the disease will fully devour him.

I am sure he also didn't diet as hard. You can tell from his face he has that insulin bloat rather than lean sunken cheeks and jaw muscle striations.

Also polumboism is not just bad dieting. It is actual skeletal deformity from hg a g insulin overuse.

Theres more to it than just skeletal deformity. Arms drastically shrink and there seems to be massive and permanent expansion of the waist. Muscle quality diminishes too.

Early signs, that ceramic-like skin, disappearing abs, deflated limbs, bloated midsection with blown out obliques... He was able to recover somehow with SEO and other things for the Finals, but the future seems not bright for him...

As long as his body keeps excepting NOLOTIL, he's able to "hide" the onset of Palumboism. Cutler had to quit altogether because the Nolotil and SEO oil turned on Cutler.

x2. Once his arms give out, hes done. Every other bodypart on Phil is average. Average chest, average back, average shoulders, average legs (quads, hams and calves). Once his arms loose his appeal, he's done for. I mean, you cant even compare Phils chest, back, shoulders and legs to someone like Ronnie lol. Its laughable. Other than his arms, he has a very "average" physique for a Mr. Olympia.

not only that, but we all know people are PUNISHED when they fall off.  Everyone LOVES a story at the O, cause there usually isn't one.

"Phil is off, phil is off!"  Those words would echo about 50,000 times.

This will be the most stressful year of Phil's life.  Scrape by on the O, really lose a lot of respect from the fans for instigating a confrontation with Kai.  And starting a new business, that's huge.   And facing the expanding stomach and shrinking arms. And it's been ten years on a modern pro stack - HOW MANY bodybuilders can do that these days?

Who turned pro in 2005/2006 with phil?   How many guys from that time period have run ALL OUT for almost a decade now?  how many have burned out?
