I may be training with a girl who has very high aspirations in the sport. I will have to double check on her height but I think she is about 5'4.
What about calf to ankle measurments?
I know with men, back and thighs win pro shows. What is the key area on the figure girls that makes or breaks them?
Im going to do my best to make sure that she stays off of steroids.
thanks!

shoulders, quad sweep

though I am noticing some girls placing well and not having developped legs or glutes mind you.... seems like upper takes precedence.

Judging has been so inconsistent... each class top 5 winners contain lean but little muscle, smooth with no definition, muscular with good separation... a combination of all 3. I honestly don't think there's a right or wrong answer considering the judges themselves don't even agree.

I agree with Dina. The shoulders definitely take precedence over the quads and glutes. Add in a swooping and wide lat structure to create a cursive "V" shape, and you have the makings of a successful figure competitor. I'm curious to see what this year's standards are, which should be evident after this weekend.
I have seen girls win with very strong upper bodies and very weak lower bodies, but I have never seen a girl win with a very weak upper body and very strong lower body. Figure is all about shape, and the going trend seems to be a top-heavy "X."
