I had to try to explain this to a dude at my gym, UFC fighters don't train in a normal gym they train in basically a boxing gym and Getbig.com is not for UFC fighters

Serious though, boxing gyms are way different then your average Gold's Gym, I used to train at the Phoenixville Civic Center which was a boxing gym and it was way different then a normal Weight lifting gym :)

In any case, Penn - Hughes 3 is going to be crazy. Apparently BJ seperated his ribs in round 2 and that's what led to his gassing.

That fight was freaking awesome! It's amazing just how much more skilled Penn is than Matt. Although I was rooting for him, I didn't give Penn a chance in hell of doing well in this fight. He owned Matt in those first two rounds. And then, he beat himself in round three...lazy SOB! His tank was completly empty and he got his ass handed to him. Less surfing and more cardio for the next fight...
What's this about his ribs being injured?

Great fight and Penn looked fantastic for 2 rounds unfortunately for him Hughes just gets stronger the longer a fight goes on. Hughes was in complete control in round 3, very impressive.
Hughes vs. St. Pierre is going to be one of for the ages. I can't think of a fight I'd rather see.

He says he seperated his ribs towards the end of round 2 in his new interview. If you watch the fight you can see him trying to guard his ribs at one point in round 3. I actually believe him because he was doing fine after round 2 and then 5 minutes later, with 3 of those sitting down in his corner, he comes out completely gassed.

You know also BJ took this fight with a months notice. He wasn't ready. I can't say that is his excuse but thats all I can off for his cardio.

how did BJ seperate his ribs? Matt didnt land anything in the first two rounds? BJ seperated them while he was trying for the triangle? it looked like BJ couldnt keep his hands up in the third more from conditioning rather than trying to protect his ribs. i was rooting for the local boy. Hughes vs. Pen III !

That fact that this was the first title fight that was worth a damm (UFC) should not go unnoticed. I think the fact that BJ had the cage to his back for so long before getting the armbar down. I'll let the JJ guys chime in. He looked gased but that triangle/armbar took alot out of him and Hughes's strength and to some extent the cage kept BJ from straightning the bar and ending the fight. All in all a pretty good UFC for a pretty light card.

He got off the plane last night and could barely walk. His rib and leg was hurt. There will be a rematch and he will win. In bothfights Matt never dominated BJ at any time except that 3rd round this weekend. BJ defnitely didn't have the stamina. That is his fault. The thirdfight he will kill Matt. Conditioning will not be a factor whatsoever. I promise you that. Hopefully he will be a huge underdog cause I am personally putting allot on him in the Sportsbook..
