Would you let your kid take steroids

We all know the facts, the risks and the rewards of taking gear.  Put into the position of a 40 year old dad that wants thier kid to get into the best NCAA program, would you ever let your kid take gear?  Or even push it on them?

I am 40. I Dont have boys though. Id just tell them all the facts good & bad. Just like anything else.
Bullshitting about drugs is stupid. Does more harm than good.
No I wouldnt push them.  Stop them? When did anyone ever stop a determined kid? Trying usualy makes it worse. If they was determined I do my best to see they didnt do damage.  Could be a moral dilemma w/  an athlete good enough to pull a nice living out of their sport Huh? What would you do?

It depends on the age...I would never tell anyone under 25 to take gear, but I have the balls to admit i wouldnt want my son fucking around with gear regardless of age. However, if my son was over 25 and well-educated about steroids as I am, it would be his choice.

I dont think the deciding factor is how a person is related to whom, but rather what age and level of competence with which they can administer the compounds. If those are in check, then I feel like there isn't that much to be concerned with.

As I respect your thoughts on this, let me ask you this....so does it mean that you were raised poorly or that any of us were for that matter. The choice of taking AAS that many of us has made has been a educated one, as I'm sure there is many who just take it without doing any research the vast majority of people put the time into learning about  AAS before taking something. I myself would not push my son either way, I would make sure he has done his research before the thoughts go through his head....just like your 2 other examples, we only have so much control over our children....but when they leave the house the decisions become there own and we can only hope as parents that we have guided them down the right path. We all make decisions in life that can be the right ones, but life is truly experienced through our own mistakes....

I agree with the under 25 thing but unfortunately way too many big fuckin kids in high school these days.  Some of these kids can compete on stage and hold thier own and all this to make it in football or baseball or whatever other sport.  I have known offensive linemen leave high school at 240 and enter College camp at 280-300.  It is insane.

Thanks. That was kind of my dad's thoughts with me when it came to recreational drugs. He warned me about them but didn't hide the fact that he did a ton when he was younger.

That goes hand in hand with being a parent   Most parents don't want their kids to do a lot of what they have done.

Trying to overcontrol kids often backfires though. Now that Ive got a child,  I have to feel for my parents.
THey allways kept cool, even when I'd come Home pullin in the driveway, lifting the Back Wheel w/ the front break on my GSXR. Must have sucked to be them.  They didnt make a peep.

We cant hide the real world from our kids. I think that makes more problems. Im sure hes not watching porn w/  his kid or going into graphic detail about it. Theres no way to avoid blatant sexual images everywhere today.
I think it best kids have been inoculated so to speak about every controverial subject you can.
When kids are hit up supprised, unprepared for a situation is when they are most vulnerable.
My daughters seen kids with out enough food to eat or shoes. Shes better for it. Point out the ugly &  unusual in life. The media takes so many issues and twists them completely out of any sense of whats real.
THe sooner kids realize that with their own eyes the better.
