Almost every kid (of peace) today, is stuck in their Iphone (of peace).
The kids today are very different now from how we were in the 70s (of peace).
Generally, thanks to growing up with access to things such as internet and a truckload of tv-channels/media/accessibility to wikipedia and similar, they generally learn english (usually american english and not british) much quicker and earlier, but they lack the older morals and the family-values in which we used to rely.
Easy access to media and Internets is both a boon and a curse, since kids are very easily influenced if not raised in a hardcore temple gym-environ. (of peace / no homo)

I am 32. When I grew up in the 80's kids were even much different than they are now. I remember growing up and not being fixated on electronics. I remember constantly going outside and not being stuck indoors all day long.

True. I'm not sure about "dumber" per say as kids these days are very smart in areas we were not as kids (technology for example) but they are lacking direction, discipline and other lessons & skills that are needed that technology can't give them. Technology also seems to be making the kids lazy and unmotivated to learn and "dig in" as my dad would put it. They always want shit right away and need to be entertained every fucking second of the day. When I take my kids camping (we go monthly in the summer) the first day is like detox. Whining and shit about being bored and not having their phones and video games....then they get over it. They were scared to drink out of the damn water hose and I was like damn..I never thought twice. Weird since when I was a kid, I was out the house all day and just had to be home when the streetlights came one for dinner.
During the summer if its a nice day we don't allow the kids to be in the house all day. They got to find something to do...and they usually do! My wife thinks that's why we don't have fat kids.
I have my 23yr old neighbor come over and ask if I knew how to change a tire...looked at my wife and was like WTF? Anyways, I helped him out...but taught him how to do it and "supervised" him as he physically did the work. Shit I can remember my dad not letting me take the car until I could show him that I knew how to do a tune up, oil change and tire change without his help when I was 16!
Lets just hope the earth doesn't suffer some kind of catastrophic event where a massive EMP destroys all technology. US and most "developed" countries will be the first in chaos. Everyone will be asking the natives of their land (who at present they treat like shit) to teach them how to live off the land and do basic shit like hunt, gather, make a fire and shelter etc..

However from a Swedish Social Scientist the polarization between dumber and smarter is constantly growing.

Technology can be good or bad, obviously. If used as an educational tool, it's incredible. So kids are better off in that respect. But the games, texting, and Facebook, probably not so much.

Don't notice kids at all. They might as well be invisible. In fact, I almost drove into a group of them yesterday morning coming home from the gym. A group of irrelevant bodies standing in the middle of the parking garage exit. Luckily for them something caught my attention at the last possible second and I slowed down enough for them to scatter and get out of the way with a nano second to spare.
If I had to waste a smallest moment of quantifyable time thinking about what they were doing blocking the road, I would assume they were posting some unintelligible excrement on various 'social media' hives.

A lot of these kids can't name their congressman, don't know when the Civil War started or a single play from Shakespeare. They're all for smoking pot and cheering on two dudes banding each other. If I had kids, they'd all become plumbers or welders...take some baseline community college business courses and start their own shops by 26. Hell a lot of these same kids take 6 years to graduate. College is a business...collect the student loan money from uncle sugar and move on.

I agree with you. Ever think some people enjoy those types of studies? I hate books, my girlfriend reads them and loves language etc. It's not to prop up shit, you just have never been inside a school so you have no idea what goes on in there.
Money isn't everything either, some people don't care about money but their passion, I know that's hard for you to imagine well with all your own problems but these people exist.
