My former wife's family strongly believes in inherited beliefs, something I'm fundamentally opposed to on almost every level.
My goal is to teach my daughter HOW to think, not WHAT to think.
I was glad that she chose to break with the party line and to cast her ballot for Obama, but I did not criticize her at all for going Yes on 8. Even though it was a secret ballot, she showed it to me.
I was very proud of her for not bending completely to the peer pressure applied by her cousins (and her mother).
Now I'm going to have to order an Obama poster for her.
