To retain some size. He's been big for 2 decades. He would not want to shrink down to normal size.

 He's a bodybuilder, his whole self-image and identity revolves around being a big person.

Given his age and years of taking AAS he would struggle to retain any mass. It's unlikely his system would even produce low/normal levels of test on its own.

Not being nasty, flaming, or anything. Nasser would probably admit this himself.

But what about all those who, when they see pics of greatly deflated pros, get all defensive and argue that all these guys have to do is eat properly and train (without using any drugs) and they'd still basically maintain their beastly physiques?

great pics bobs!!.. especially those of nasser's old contests, i am sure this is the first time these rare pics are uploaded on the net, but of course not the last time.. soon you will find many bb forums sharing them..

as for this one, nothing is written on the cover except the name of the magazine with is "negoum el-reyada" (translation = sports starts).. it's a lebnanese bb magazine but to be honest it's poor in both shape and content.. also on the cover nasser's name is written as "nasser el-sonbaty 3rd place at olympia 95".. and the date of the issue (dec. 1995).. seems they were still waiting for the olympia pics so they used one of his previous contests pics (noc 94)

I'll ask but it would not surprise me at all.  Even Nasser one some days only ate 100 grams of protein (but on most days of course he ate much more). Many pro's don't pay very close attention to what they eat each day in the offseason, so some days will end up eating a lot and other days not as much, or some days not as much protein but lots of carbs.
