HOIST ROC-IT
« on: December 06, 2017, 10:49:52 AM »
What is the purpose of "rocking" while you perform the movement?  Does this aid in muscle gain or prevent injury? I have seen these machines more and more in gyms.

I don't trust people who are just trying to sell a product, gimmick.

I need information from unbiased getbiggers, particularly whether or not it really is beneficial.

They claim greater stress during different parts of the range of motion. Like if you lean back at the bottom portion of standing barbell curls and lean a little forward at the top of the movement, so the stress is not lessened near the top and bottom parts of the ROM.

Thank you, Megalodon. Do you buy this? Can I get significantly bigger by working out on a Hoist Roc-It machine?

if you have any knowledge about training you can figure out yourself if there's something to it or not

It's how some people already adjust their bodies naturally while training with free weights to effect the stress during the range of motion. It's like the machines vs free weight argument and this machine may be a little different.

I wonder if it is beneficial to get a hoist roc-it or just stick to regular machine? I mean, a normal lat pulldown vs. a hoist roc-it pullown.

They're in California. People that invent and market this type of thing usually like talking about it.

Not beneficial at all, just do free weights.

Of course , you could get jacked only doing machines. Getting powerlifting like strength, probably not.
The goal of the machine seems to be mimicking a natural movement and targeting stabilizer muscles. Both are  easily accomplished with free weights.

Free weights are scary. Look what happened to Ronnie Coleman, 8x Mr. Olympia.

I work in a warehouse and inventory commercial equipment

Hoist motion cage is a bitch to install - mostly YMCAs get them , gyms with lots of younger adults

The hoist - roc it machines are the same , big bulky - not real expensive compared to new matrix or nautilus stuff

LifeFitness makes hammer strength and everyone likes that stuff

It’s older but personally I seek out gyms that have body master machines
