i can't speak for others, but my tv has an antenna built into it; picking up local tv (abc, cbs, nbc) is no problem.

This, or the HD attennas are very good.   Amazon sells them for $20-30

ESPN to fire more than 100 on-air employees today

The MSNBC of sports

ESPN used to be the crown jewel in the Disney Corporation’s portfolio. It was thought to be the network cable subscribers couldn’t - and wouldn’t - live without, so it was a perennial cash-cow. Even if the movies, toys, and theme parks underperformed, ESPN could be counted on to generate mountains of Mouse-moolah.

Maybe that’s why Keith Olbermann’s twice-former network thought infusing sports coverage with ever-increasing levels of left-wing political content was a good move. After all, if the ratings are bulletproof, why not let the biased, poorly-informed, political opinions fly?

Over the air HD is better than anything through a cable box.

It's completely uncompressed, resulting in a much higher picture quality.

Always use over the air HD if you have the option.

espn is in for a very rough patch for the next several years, they have billions tied up in the nfl, nba, and mlb,      and there subscribers keep dropping every month

they are shitty network that caters to liberals.     espn- loves big black cock

When I see most NFL guys doing interviews I want nothing more than to reach through the screen and slap the shit out them.  Odell Beckham, Michael Bennett, Richard Sherman, Cam Newton etc...  All fucking annoy the shit out me.  Can't watch the game since I hate most of the players these days.  Growing up the blacks in the NFL used to be cool dudes.  Warren Moon, Randall Cunningham, Reggie White etc.... Now they're just annoying attention whores.

I think it's more of a generational thing.

Older school  (black) NBA legends : Bill Russell, Dr J ,Jordon, Shaq, etc acted with class.
Sadly, that is lacking in most current players.

Doesn't matter if you're politically left or right, people turn on sports to hear about SPORTS not politics. Like Kaepernick they kept pushing their left agenda and it's killing them. I like the documentaries on ESPN and the updates but again, keep the political crap out. I remember when Cowherd went to FOX Sports, he said the same thing. ESPN is very politically driven.

NFL numbers are declining mostly because of the political statements and the excessive rules and penalties thanks to Goodell (just my opinion) ESPN is taking a hit because they can't help injecting their left leaning politics from sports. No one (no, not even me) wants to hear political BS when trying to keep up with the sporting world.

You nailed it. I know a lot of people that won't watch because of the disrespect of the flag and the anthem. I noticed the NFL started having those gigantic flags in so many games trying to balance out the protests. ESPN is owned by ABC and their politics are to the left of left.

The ESPN weekend radio shows are really bad. I can't remember who the host was (he was on like at 4 or 5pm on Sat or Sun, I can't remember) and it was just about 20 min of Trump bashing in a very hateful and malicious way and this was a sports show. Since then I took ESPN off my radio.

Only show I listen to occasionally now are Mike and Mike. Was already getting turned off by the athletes themselves but ESPN is junk now.

same here, at least 15 years or more when they put on the crack head michael irvin that was enough for me. and when they started acting like hood rats, calling a three point shot in basketball a "tre"

I think he had tom Jackson smoking with him at one point... when they would do "jacked up" or "c'mon man" together.. funny but, I liked espn when they had dan Patrick, stuart scott, and craig kilborn doing sportscenter... the most espn I ever watched was the during homerun race in the summer of 98... man that was awesome.
