The bodybuilding couple wanted in connection with a Las Vegas murder have been captured. Craig Titus and Kelly Ryan were arrested today in Canton, Massachusetts which is near Boston. They will be held until an extradition hearing which is likely to be held next week. Watch News 3 at 4 for the very latest.

A pair of professional bodybuilders has been arrested in Stoughton, wanted for a murder in Las Vegas. The husband and wife were captured Friday afternoon at the Shaws Plaza, by the FBI.
Craig Titus and Kelly Ryan were wanted for the December 14th murder of a 28 year-old woman. Her body was found in the trunk of a burning car in the Las Vegas desert.
Melissa James of New Jersey was apparently strangled before the car was set on fire. She was found earlier this month in the trunk of the burning car.

That exactly what is likely, the police had the name of the friend and just waited with him for them to show up. Not a matter of friendship, the friend could've ended up in prison.
Their only way out was if they'd had sufficient cash on hand to leave the country almost immediately, without having to sell assets.

Here's what I don't get, why such a rush job on the body disposal? Hell, they could have taken 5 hours to clean out the bank accounts before taking the body out. Then straight to Mexico - don't wait around to see if the cops can figure out if it's your car or not (VIN #'s must be a new concept to Craig).
My guess some or all involved were on drugs - making their sense of time altered. That, paired with just a plain lack of common sense, got them...
My guess is that a phone call log would show some calls to Mass - and the police found that a place to wait for him...

Although none of us knows the details of any transactions which may have taken place, providing a friend with cash is not necessarily a crime, and it certainly would not be if the friend had no knowledge of what was going on.
That's why when you're in a situation and get "the call", you do what you want, but ask no questions.

Hell, from Craig's recent pic (available on www.freecraigtitus.com ) he looks like he's been cleaning out- bald, skinny, and frail compared with his stage package. So if any drug is blamed, it should be the rumored GHB or whatever else he was on.

i just saw the MSNBC footage, and they showed craig in the police car...i feel bad for the guy, something went wrong, in 1 second you can lose your temper or your cool or whatever happens, he threw it all away, and you can see it in his face, that he ruined his life. i feel bad for the guy.

Looking ahead..the Titus defense will be uncontrolled rage as a result of steroid use (abuse). It's his only angle. THAT will bring lots of extra scrutiny upon the sport from the competitors to the supplement companies themselves. Kelly's defense would have to be similar although she's looking at a much different sentence altogether. She's gotta claim fear for her life and acting as a captive hotage under duress. The bottom line here is that the Titus/Ryan defense case WILL seek to blame the lifestyle facilitated by the sport of Bodybuilding for the "incident" Wait and see.
Additionally how long into this soon to be drawn out saga before the defendants start giving up names and info? I'm told by a well place source in LV that when they took down the Craig/Kelly's home they found "thousands of syringes, multiple dosages of controlled substances" and "documents" of interest. Nice.

I agree with your view regarding people using the things they choose to incorporate into their lifestyle as a crutch when they do stupid things. But you know its coming! I'm not validating the defense I believe they are going to plea, I am simply pointing out that by them doing this it's going to try to shift the blame from them unto the sport as a whole.
Earlier today several TV hosts started going down that path. Society has a negative view already of the sport. If the sport were a football team it would be the Oakland Raiders!

1. lighting a car on fire! no matter how much of the car burns the police would still be able to figure out it was a jaguar then check who has that make and model, check to see who's missing one in lv wich would lead to kelly ryan!
2. burning a body, theres always gonna be something left most likely ,even if it one tooth!
3. getting other people involved( the kid with the gas can)
4 , telling polk and her bf
5 telling whomever to liquidate your assests!
6, 3,4 and 5 all go together , trust no one after you commited murder!
7. staying in the country after getting questioned then released( leave your money ,stocks, bonds, get in a car head to mexico and make plans from there)
they basically did everything you could possibly do to get captured!
DID THESE 2 EVER WATCH TV? the blueprints have basically been laid out on how to at least have a chance of getting away with something like this on the thousands of detective shows on court tv ect..

thats true, but after getting released from questioning they had some time to get their mind clear and get the hell out of town!
they did have to get rid of the body fast though since the womens mother was exspecting her on that flight and craig bought the plain ticket , so he new she was exspected home!

i doubt ke killed her for ripping them off, i think either she was gonna tell kelly about the affair, crazy sex gone bad, or some sort of blackmail if he was doing something illegal!

A complete meltdown of the car....no matter how much gas they had wasn't going to happen.

I have contacted a few organizations and asked producers to please keep the story about the facts, and that any speculative banter into steroids/etc would really take away the focus from the victim, and the fact that the crime was committed by individuals, not by any chemicals.

My guess (and I am really guessing here) is that Craig had an appointment to meet his friend (the liquidator) there. The police knew the whole thing so the friend never showed. Kelly left to do something while the dealing would take place.

From the time the police interviewed them, they were suspects. The police and feds were already watching their bank accounts and assets. They would have been picked up for more questioning had they liquidated anything, so they really never had a chance. Their smartest move would have been to refuse to speak with police and hire a top lawyer. Their next smartest move (after speaking with the police) would have been to sit tight, get their stories straight from top to bottom and hire a top defense lawyer.
Have to say, I'm surprised Kelly went on the lamb with CT. I mean at some point, she had to know the jig was up. It may sound glamorous, but being on the run is a paranoid nightmare. Think the last 30 minutes of Goodfellas, where it seems like everyone is looking at you funny and everybody on a cell phone is calling the police. And even if they went to a country that didn't extradite, you still have rogues like Dog and other guys looking to make a name for themselves by capturing fugitives.

Craig Titus / Kelly Ryan Extradition Hearing Notes – 12-27-05
At approximately 12:15 – 12:30pm Eastern time on December 27, 2005, Craig Ryan and Kelly Titus were brought into the Stoughton, Massuchusetts Court House. The hearing was short, and since the state of Nevada did not have enough documents or paperwork to extradite them at this time, they postponed the hearing until January 11th or sometime around then.
Craig & Kelly looked a lot better than they did when they found them. At the hearing, they had two lawyers there, and when they go back to Nevada, they are already working on some excellent lawyers. They are currently staying at the Northfolk County Correctional Facilities, In Dedham, Massachusetts until the next hearing.
There were some news crews filming so we should be able to get soom footage from outside the courtroom.

Attorneys for the couple said both plan to fight rendition to Nevada, a process that could take eight weeks.
The couple was arrested Friday in Stoughton while Ryan was having a manicure.
Titus, a 1996 bodybuilding champion, told police he had a secret romance with the couple's assistant, Melissa James, 28. Her body was found in the trunk of a burned Jaguar on Dec. 14 near Las Vegas. Police said Titus strangled her before torching the car. Ryan will be charged with accessory to murder.
The couple was allegedly seen at a Las Vegas-area Wal-Mart buying seven bottles of charcoal starter fluid and a barbecue tool set.
A third person, Anthony Gross, has also been arrested and faces an accessory to murder charge.

The body of James, 28, was found Dec. 14 in the trunk of Ryan's abandoned and burned-out Jaguar sedan outside Las Vegas. Authorities say Gross bought a can of gasoline and followed in his pickup as Titus allegedly drove the Jaguar to a remote desert highway, took the gas and set the car on fire.
Gross, 23, told police he drove Titus back to Las Vegas, but they did not discuss what happened. He was arrested last week in Las Vegas.
Titus, who won a 1996 bodybuilding championship and competed in Mr. Olympia events, faces state charges in Nevada including murder, accessory to murder and third-degree arson, according to a warrant issued Dec. 20 in Las Vegas.
Ryan, a past Fitness America and Fitness International winner and Fitness Olympia runner-up, is charged with accessory to murder and third-degree arson.
In interviews with police before they left Nevada, neither Titus nor Ryan admitted involvement with James' slaying. But Titus told Las Vegas police he'd had a secret romance with James, court records show.
Titus later told a business partner that he intended to meet a friend in Boston, liquidate his assets and leave the country, police said.

Assistant District Attorney Jason Mohan said yesterday investigators who searched Titus’ truck after he was arrested found $8,300 hidden in an aerosol can with a false bottom.
But George argued that wasn’t enough money to get the couple out of the country.
‘‘The $8,300 was it,’’ he said. ‘‘There’s nothing (in Massachusetts) to liquidate.’’

Bodybuilders fight return to Nevada on slaying charges

STOUGHTON -- Lawyers for two nationally recognized bodybuilders said yesterday that they will fight efforts to send the couple back to Las Vegas to face charges of killing their personal assistant, who was found in the trunk of a burned-out car on a deserted Nevada highway.
Craig Titus, 40, and Kelly Ryan, 33, pleaded not guilty. They were arrested by FBI agents last week at a Stoughton nail salon with $8,300 in cash inside a bottomless aerosol can, Norfolk assistant district attorney Jason Mohan said in Stoughton District Court.
Titus is wanted in Nevada on a murder charge, and Ryan is wanted as an accessory to murder, Mohan said. Both also face state charges of third-degree arson and federal charges of unlawful flight to avoid prosecution.
The prosecutor said the couple were in Massachusetts to liquidate assets and flee the country, possibly to Greece.
But the couple's lawyers disputed the allegations.
''They were here to see friends during the holiday," said attorney Robert A. George, who represented Titus.
George said that the couple has no assets in Massachusetts to cash in, and that the two were questioned by Las Vegas police after the body of Melissa James, their live-in assistant, was found. Arguing that his client is not a fugitive from justice, George said the two were released by Las Vegas police and started driving to Massachusetts at least three days before an arrest warrant was issued on Dec. 20.
Attorney John Gibbons, who is representing Ryan, said his client has never been in trouble with the law.
''She had no idea" that there was a warrant, Gibbons said, also noting that Ryan cooperated with Las Vegas police.
Friends of the couple sobbed as the charges were read against them.
Titus and Ryan were once considered royalty in the bodybuilding community, commanding at least $3,000 in fees during stage showcases. For the past five years, they have traveled the world, appearing in bodybuilding shows, posing for magazines, and endorsing nutritional supplements. This year the couple was scheduled to make appearances in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates, Ireland, and Portugal, Titus's website said.
Two weeks ago, the partly burned body of James, 28, was found bound and gagged in the trunk of Ryan's red 2003 Jaguar, according to court documents. Las Vegas police have said that Titus and Ryan told them they had thrown James out of their home after they realized that she had been embezzling from their business, Emperor Enterprises Inc., and that they had nothing to do with her death.
Titus also told police that he had been having an affair with James, according to police reports, which also said Ryan told a friend she had bought seven bottles of lighter fluid with her credit card at a Wal-Mart.
Both Titus and Ryan were ordered held without bail yesterday. A status hearing on authorities' attempt to transfer the pair to Nevada is scheduled for Jan. 12.
Also yesterday, another alleged accomplice, Anthony Gross, was ordered held on $13,000 bail in Las Vegas.
James's mother said that in her last conversation with her daughter, James sounded happy and untroubled. She called for justice in her daughter's death. ''Whoever did this, I want them to pay," Maura James, 51, said by phone from her home in Lambertville, N.J. ''She was a good person, sweet, kind, considerate. This should have never happened to her."

i am almost 100% craig titus will get executed within the next 10 years. this crime is so severe that i can not see him getting life in prison. his ugly wife will probably get somewhere between 10 and 20 years. titus is going to be 160 pound guy in prison... the gang will teach him a lesson. they are waiting for him in there. this will be your proof that drugs play a major role in bodybuilding when it comes to the pros/top amatuers. this will show many of you that many pros lie right and left about their hormone use. you will see that in the next year or 2 he will get from his current 215-220 pounds to a thin 160 pounds. he's losing weight by the min.
no more titus at 250...get ready for titus as dead man walking at 160 pounds. titus aint no tookie williams, he aint no black bro that can have muscle screaming out of him with out touching gear. titus will be a little skinny play toy. who knows he might try to kill himself way before the verdict comes in... but he is basically dead man walking any way you look at it.
lesson to be learned: DON'T DO NARCOTICS! ! !
some of you may say oh he will be still 200 pounds ....well the reasons why he will not are:
1) he is spoild brat. he wont be able to be in prison for life he will be stressed every min of the rest of his life.
2) he will probably get death...unless his daddy or mommy got lots and lots of money which i doubt it...so a walking dead man is even more stressed.
3) he is 5'8 and already got down from 250+ to 215-220 in a very short time. remember his height will aim for the weight he had naturally. titus was a skinny teenager.
4) his wife life is done as in she will never ever be able to work again in fitness. no where! and he wont be able to live with the fact he ruined her life too... which will = depression and body shut down.
5) he will eat 3 meals in prison and yes some guys can maintain weight with it especially when you do nothing all day long beside sitting in your cell. but he wont have the hormones!!! the hormones are a major factor in our lives. no matter how hard you train.
6) the food he will eat wont be the kinda food that is clean enough for NATURAL guys to maintain lean physiqe. he wont be able to adjust his diet inorder to maintain even 190 pounds of quality mass.
7) check out kevin now retired from bodybuilding a whole 190-200 pounds. he is still on gear by the way and he is not in a cell and he eats right and good. he just reduced/changed the hormones and the calories. craig titus is NO kevin levrone..kevin levrone genetics is godly same as ron colman and sean ray. those guys are at diff level genetically than titus..they still used and one of them still use mega doses of the goodies...but they are superior to titus genetic wise. unlike kevin..titus will be in a cell waiting for execution he wont be able to keep no muscle with out loads of hormones, good training, lots of food, and brain that is not depressed. he also wont have 9 or 10 hours to sleep at night....he doesnt have no life no more. he took life so now society takes his life.
what will happen to craig titus is probably the following: he will reduce a lot of size while at the same time increase body fat. he will end up somewhere between 150 and 170 at 5'8 with 15-20% body fat. it wont happen in a couple of days..it will probably take a good year or 2 in prison after the verdict comes if they found him guilty that is.
i wish craig titus and his ugly wife hell on earth and beyond.
now to justify and prove you everything i said about hormones is on the spot i will add 2 pics of guys you know that are off hormones now.

Jeez , look at Prince! The last show I competed in (2000) Tom was the guest poser. The show was in late June, 3-4 weeks after he competed in the N.O.C. He was rebounding from the show & I swear to God he was absolutely the biggest ***** I have ever (to this day) seen. He was the first BB'er that I didn't want to look like. I never thought I'd say, "That guys too big", but I did. He said he was around 296lbs.He was ridiculous. I can't believe that's him. He looks like he weighs 180 tops.

1) he is spoild brat. he wont be able to be in prison for life he will be stressed every min of the rest of his life.

3) he is 5'8 and already got down from 250+ to 215-220 in a very short time. remember his height will aim for the weight he had naturally. titus was a skinny teenager.
4) his wife life is done as in she will never ever be able to work again in fitness. no where! and he wont be able to live with the fact he ruined her life too... which will = depression and body shut down.
5) he will eat 3 meals in prison and yes some guys can maintain weight with it especially when you do nothing all day long beside sitting in your cell. but he wont have the hormones!!! the hormones are a major factor in our lives. no matter how hard you train.
6) the food he will eat wont be the kinda food that is clean enough for NATURAL guys to maintain lean physiqe. he wont be able to adjust his diet inorder to maintain even 190 pounds of quality mass.
7) check out kevin now retired from bodybuilding a whole 190-200 pounds. he is still on gear by the way and he is not in a cell and he eats right and good. he just reduced/changed the hormones and the calories. craig titus is NO kevin levrone..kevin levrone genetics is godly same as ron colman and sean ray. those guys are at diff level genetically than titus..they still used and one of them still use mega doses of the goodies...but they are superior to titus genetic wise. unlike kevin..titus will be in a cell waiting for execution he wont be able to keep no muscle with out loads of hormones, good training, lots of food, and brain that is not depressed. he also wont have 9 or 10 hours to sleep at night....he doesnt have no life no more. he took life so now society takes his life.
what will happen to craig titus is probably the following: he will reduce a lot of size while at the same time increase body fat. he will end up somewhere between 150 and 170 at 5'8 with 15-20% body fat. it wont happen in a couple of days..it will probably take a good year or 2 in prison after the verdict comes if they found him guilty that is.

I think it's just as likely (perhaps more likely) that this is the result of spontaneous rage as it is of premeditation. Also, Bundy and Dahmer were serial killers... the Tituses aren't (that we know of ;D).

As of right now there is no "crime scene." Where was MJ murdered? You can't just say "Las Vegas." You need a crime scene, forensic evidence, Interviews with potential witnesses and then all of it has to be presented to a grand jury who will then determine if there is sufficient evidence to hand down an indictment/s. So far CT & KR have not been charged with a crime. Wasting time fighting extradition, while nearly automatic in such cases is a big waste of timep; it will not count against the time CT or KR might get, and it gives the prosecution time to build their case and the investigators to do such things as find the crime scene.

Not by much, if any! And remember Keith, despite the awful plastic surgery's, Kelly is & always will be a woman, not one made from a conversion kit. You know the one's like the fake Lambo's that are actually fiberglass cover's built on a Fiero chassy. As much as it may look like a Lambo far away , when you get near it , you can tell it's just a crappy copy sitting on a crappier frame, just like Stanley/Sasha.

I knew the Sasha remark would get some flack. At a quick glance and not knowing the history behind (or in front in this case) of Sasha you would consider he/she pretty nice. But I have met her numerous times at shows and the gym and she and her voice and hands are definitely detirents. Oh well.

She rode the bus for a week straight, in handcuffs and ankle shackles with the black box at her waist the whole time, in a sitting position, and only allowed a couple of bathroom visits per day. She didn't get to brush her teeth, take a shower, brush her hair or anything during that week. She stated that they were fed from McDonald's 3 times a day and had to eat with the handcuffs and belly chain on. She was also transported from Tennessee to Chicago (twice), Philidelphia, Alabama, and all over the eastern United States before being dropped off at a jail and left for over a week, not knowing when she would be picked up or where she would be transported to next on her way to Florida. At one point on this trip, she was within 3 hours of where she needed to be in Florida, and the van went the other way, keeping her detained a while longer.

That's called diesel therapy. It's usually done after conviction. Was she extradited or just being transfered?

240, Norma Jeans was a nightclub that Diamond Dallas Page owned. If you faced Hooters it was to the right. I think across the street was the hotel I stayed at for awhile. Then I stayed at the new hotel that opend up on the water. I can't remember the name. But the pic below was taken out at the pool area. I was a judge in a Bikini Contest we put on there. The girl on the right of me was Brutus the Barber Beefcake's wife. I really like Ft. Meyers. Was there about 2+ months. Was prmoting a big sports night. Had pro boxing and everything. Hooters gave me $500 in Hooter Bucks. There were only 3 Hooters back then. They weren't franchised out yet.
Do you know the name of this hotel. It was really nice probably the best hotel in Ft. Myers right on the water.
