Title: Honeymoon updated (Safari was amazing)
Post by: Stark on May 22, 2008, 11:29:26 PM
I have never been on a Safari so I had no idea what to expect, I'm as qulaified Zookeeper so I have seen most of the animals (or the big 5 as they call them) I was under the impression that Kruger national park would be like the Seremgeti as in flat and we would drive through rough terain with the jeep, but Kruger (the park is bigger than israel) you have to stick to the dirt roads so you give the animals breathing space.
You have one game drive in the morning and one in the afternoon, you always have breakfast in the bush what was awesome since I had time to leave the other people talking to each other and I could go out with the Ranger and he was very nice and taught me the different tracking methods and what a lot of the markings means.
We enjoyed so many amazing moments, for example the first game drive we did was late in the evening and we were lucky enough to see a Leopard wo was busy marking his territory, but the most amazing experience was when we went on a bush walk, it becomes very appear ant  that anybody out there becomes   very fast food and there were some tense moments when we found very fresh elephant shit and even worse bull shit.

All in all the game lodge we stayed was phantastic, every place was laid out that you had a clear private few to the  bush and the last evening after a shower outside I heard a loud noise of breaking leaves outside what can only mean one thing, elephant, I ran to the front and found a lonely elephant bull grassing, absolutely phanastic.

Keith since you have asked so nice I will take time out when I'm back to write you what I have found out and send you some more pics.

First pic is the part of your lodge were you can sit and relax and watch the bush for some game, I sat there for ages with my binoculars trying to find animals walking past.

Second pic is early in the morning two elephant bulls..

last pic were a pack of wild dogs (these are very rare) it was fun to watch them hunt impalas,

You need to get your eyes checked, my polish friend. I can only see one elephant, not two, and a single dog, not a pack.

there was a total of 4 dogs, we made a small movie but its to large to post, it was amazing to see the Impala go nuts when they chased them, the ranger explained to me that the dogs try to find the one impala that doesn't feel well, so the impala try anything to make the dogs believe they are of excellent health by jumping realy high and far, they look a bit like ballett dancers.

Starks a cool brother, I heard about his wedding a while ago, why would you doubt his honeymoon, why would any husband post a picture of their wife on this board, you know what people will say never the less no matter what she looks like.

Except your name is sevastase and you want to rule out some gay rumors, then you rent a hooker for 2 days, make a short trip with her to 100s of places, take 4gb worth of pics and then post them from time to time as your "fiancee".

gayer than searching for getbiggers you want to fuck on gay dating sites.

Nico, here in New York we can see buffalo, elephants, and leopards anytime for free at the Bronx Zoo on Wednesdays. Kinda makes Singita at $1800/nt seem overpriced!

Ed I love you man but that was stupid... trust me to see these animals in their natural habitat is beats any zoo by miles and since I have been working in a zoo for quite some time i know best.

Here is another very good moment, third day in cape town we did a hike to the table mountain, it's quite a serious hike and one poor guy slipped and fell quite a bit, they had to air lift him and I took some pictures, hope the guy or woman was alright but it looked quite serious.
On the way we saw another snake, and a lot of other reptiles.
Table mountain hike nearly "killed" me, my calvs were nearly dead for a week, but it was brilliant, anybody who goes to cape town I can only recommend that trip.

Stark I live in Cape Town, so it is nice to see you having a good time here  ;)

power cape town was nothing I expect (in a positive way) we need to have a chat I need to know if there is any employment in capetown w;s hat are the key areas to find work etc

All you negative fucks ;D I'm sitting in the "lounge" I smoke a cuban cigar my wife enjoys a cocktail and we have a band playing Cuban style tunes :D

Today we "walked" with lions, it's some south african guy who has this huge thing set up with about 6 half grown lions, you go out and walk for an hour with them through the country side, it's just you the lions the trainer and we all have only sticks in our hand.
I felt pretty bad about the whole deal, I have never experienced a lion so close and it was nice to see and touch them, but I come from a background as a zookeeper were we are thaught that the best way to treat animals is to let them be what they want, so I never go to a circus or delpinarium, so It felt for me like I broke my long time promise, I mean the lions are there to pose for the fat tourists and they are treated well but it's of course a far cry from Kruger national park were they just are what god made them... big mean cats that hunt and kill for food.
All in all it was an awesome day but i felt pretty bad about the lion deal.
