Overkill has kept going, while other bands have faded away.

I've also met Bobby Blitz at some shows back in the day.

Not sure if this thrash classic was posted earlier in the thread:

Excellent epic/heavy/doom band and very underrated (if not unknown to most people).

New Morbid Angel:

Reminds me of  Gateways and Heretic, which is to be expected with Steve Tucker back in the band.

David Vincent is a much better frontman than Tucker. As much flack as it got for the Nu-Metal stuff, their last one was better.

I actually liked "Nevermore" a lot. And "Existo Vulgore" is good but the vocals get annoying. The album had good tracks..

I was looking forward to it, then became less enthused with all the slagging, but then I finally received my copy and ... I dig it.

It's a solid record without techno shit. I'm content that I can see both Morbid Angel with Tucker play newer stuff live and I can also see I Am Morbid with Vincent play material from Altars of Madness to Domination. Best of both worlds. Same with Deicide with Benton/Asheim and Amon with the Hoffman brothers.

Solid, basic Priest. Hopefully the album is as well.

I thought Angel of Retribution (2005) was good, but nothing from Nostradamus (2008) and Redeemer of Souls (2014) really grabbed me.
