31 inch vertical jump is outstanding. I did 29 inches in a similar test with chalk on the fingers. This is 29 inches over how high I could reach with one hand. I could just touch a basketball rim with a standing jump. Never could dunk the ball but Levrone might have been able to do it with a good run on a sprung floor.

I think Levrone is pretty cool. One of the best bodybuilders of all time. How many guys built like him have ever put together a decent band and sung good songs? I don't give a shit if he didn't sell a million albums or stick with it. He probably had a great time rocking out on stage. He could have done some talentless, mindless rap shit..but instead he did rock songs. I give him credit right there for that. That's cool! Most bodybuilders are a bunch of awkward guys that would pull their hamstrings if they ever sprinted 40 yards...but this guy's athletic So he dabbled in acting...I bet he enjoyed that too. If he wants to promote himself and his supplement line, so what? The guy has an artistic side, he's athletic and still looks pretty damned good. I'd really like to see the accomplishments of his haterz on here. Bunch of jackasses.

I see nothing wrong with that. IMO, he's smart for wanting to take an athletic approach to his training. He's now learning how important is it to be functional and the best way is to train like an athlete. When you get our age things get tougher, you can't train as heavy, hard to recoup, etc.

It's the idea of being in your 40s and still having your whole identity tied into your physical prowess.

The reality is that things like running fast and jumping high are secondary attributes. Jungle animals blow us away at both. Man got to the top of the food chain because of his brain.

IMO he is using his brain by marketing his products and himself with video.

Kevin's a good guy, but I think the problem is people are getting sick and tired of his "Used car salesman" pitch about his products he is trying to peddle on every message board out there.

A 31 inch vertical is outstanding! In fact, anything over 24 inches is damn good.

Running 40 in 4.5 -4.7 Just a bit over average
Vertical 31 is a bit over average
 Broad jump is average
 Boxing is lower than average
What's the point of this reports?

A 31 inch vertical jump is just over average? You must be joking, right? Most 6 foot tall guys can't dunk a basketball, and if a 6 foot guy has a 31 inch vertical, then he would be able to dunk holding the ball with both hands.

haha yeah at the NBA combine those numbers are 'average'.  For the average Division 1 bball player the vertical is 27-30 and football 29-31.  So yeah if you hold Levrone to a division 1 athlete's standard he is 'average'.  If however you look at his age and the fact he's not a division 1 athlete and never has been one.  It's not hard to see how remarkable his vert really is.

BTW a lot of bullsh*tters on here with their vertical.

Thanks for shedding some truth on the vertical jump man! My vertical was just a bit under 24 inches and I thought that was fairly respectable, but it seem that even some toadies can easily surpass my measily 24 inches LOL

people think they are jumping higher than what they are, until they are tested properly and given perspective on where average and elite really are.  It's like the bench, how many can truly bench 405lbs with a pause rather than momentum?  How many can truly squat 500lbs to parallel?  You may think you're doing it right but until you've done it with officially it's all internet conjecture.

It's irrelevant whether it NFL (fat slobs) or NBA combine (tall sticks), I tell you real deal, 24 vertical is pathetic

That guy can do a 40 vertical and Levrone got smoked by him. That's why Levrone's 31 vertical is a bit average and I still don't know what these reports for...

To dunk a basketball you have to jump a full foot above the rim.

I can easily clear the rim but I can't dunk a basketball or even come close.

You're right, Coach.

I look forward to Kevin's next video in which he juggles three bowling balls while riding a unicycle. ;)

But, seriously, you can make a case that, right now, the most successful fitness "guru" is Tony Horton. If you watch his infomercial it's more about the success stories of his pupils and not so much about Tony, himself. Kevin's vids are all about Kevin and no one else. Hence, the attention whore criticisms.

A quick check on the internet shows that over 28 inch vertical jump is excellent.
